“Expensive Wifi!”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed August 7, 2013

The center itself was nice enough, fairly standard with the large ballrooms and smaller meeting rooms. I have two complaints though: the wifi is extremely expensive and even though there seems to be a ton of different little restaurants and cafes only one was ever open.

“Montessori Conference”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 4, 2013

This building is enormous, eco-friendly, and architecturally amazing. I was there for a conference and I was very impressed with the organization and comfort of this huge center.

“Leaky Con”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 11, 2013

I was in Portland for 4 days at the end of June for Leaky Con. The convention center was a fantastic place to have this event. There was plenty of room, it was right on the MAX, and all the workers were extremely nice, even when inundated by our crazy large crowds, all dressed up in random costumes. I would highly recommend this convention center as a place to hold a larger group of people with different events going on.

There were a few other conventions going on at the same time as ours. I never felt that we really impeded their time, nor they to ours. Loved it here!

“LeakyCon 2013 location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 1, 2013

The Convention Center is easy to get to using the TriMet system in Portland. It was certainly big enough to host all the events of LeakyCon. Unfortunately, there are only a few cafes/restaurants in the center and none are open after 8:00. Also, there is no free wifi; you can purchase wifi for $12.95 a day!

“Maybe next time...”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed June 2, 2013

The Convention Center does a good job with directing the flow of traffic, both vehicle and foot. The attendants are very nice. Once the doors open you are to leave any food or beverage, including your own water bottles at the check-in areas. The concessions are well priced and they were willing to get a bag of ice for one of the girls we brought who hurt her knee. The bathrooms are quite small and need a bit of updating. There are always lines. It's pretty warm in the lobby, but almost freezing once you get inside. The seats are really close together on the ground floor and you will be touching the person next to you, no matter how small you are, no matter where you sit. If you are tall, your knees will touch the seats in front of you. The first session we sat right above floor level, on the far left side from the AA entrance, we were surprised to smell cigarette smoke almost the entire 3 hours we were there. The next session was on floor level and the stage lighting was in our eyes the entire time. The Third session we sat to the left of the stage and had to either turn our entire bodies to the left to see the screens. It was not comfortable. The last session we sat directly across from the stage in the stadium seating. Two people tripped in the aisles because the lighting was not good. The staff in the Red vests were talking loudly right behind us and had their radios blasting everytime someone contacted them. Even when asked to quite down, they laughed. The conference was free and we were very impressed with the speaker and entertainment, but the building itself was not great.
