I went with my partner last Saturday afternoon and the place had a few dozen people in it. The atmosphere was relaxed and many people were playing games, working on personal projects, or otherwise enjoying themselves.
The bar staff was far friendly than I can really explain. They made a few non-offensive jokes about the weather and double-checked we were getting the beers we truly wanted. We were even thanked for coming in, as they had never seen us before.
There is a slight musty smell, but it could be an old building on a hot day, beer brewing, or the fact dog owners do frequent the place and bring their dogs.
Back to the beers - I had a nitro irish stout. Thank you for the nitro. I was thrilled to have it. It was served nice and cold. Despite my obvious bias for this drink, it was a good stout (3 out of 5), not outstanding (5 out of 5), but questionably very good (4 out of 5).
My partner had the cask aged beer available. I am blanking on what it was specifically. I can say, it was complex on the nose and palate, with strong notes of apple pie and summer blackberries. Despite the large bubble size of the CO2, the head lasted longer than my nitro stout. It was very good.
