I've never been to New York, but this place would be as I would imagine a New York pizza place to be decorated. Seating is all deli or bar style. If you are with a group, this place will not work for you if you want to do any socializing at all. It's very informal and if you aren't a local, a little ackward in not knowing how the flow goes. We went straight to the cash register to check out the menu and place our order. Come to find out, as soon as you walk in, stay in that line, apparently ordering by the slice is majority of how everyone orders pizza. We were going to order a whole pizza and they said it would be close to an hour before it would be ready. We opted to order by the slice and had to go back in line to choose our slices. They only had four selections to choose from, pepperoni, cheese, sausage with green pepper, and combo which also had green pepper. I'm not a green pepper fan, so my choice was pepperoni or cheese. I opted for pepperoni. Like all pepperoni pizza it was extremely greasy, but aft er using several napkins to wipe some of the grease off, it was ready to chow down. The pizza was good, and the crust was really good. I would say its more average than anything. Not too expensive though, so over all the experience was good. Would I go back next time I'm in Portland, probably not.
