If you're looking for authentic japanese food, look elsewhere. At best, this place is a japanese fusion joint, crammed into a tiny sushi bar with the IKEA-like ambiance. The food is ok, especially the gtilled saba, but it's hardly real japanese food. Note that it's owned by Chinese people, so not surprisingly the only asians who eat there are Chinese - not Japanese. It's not a bad place if you don't want to go downtown for good Japanese food, but it's not worth the long wait - which makes no sense given the average quality of the food. Some things to avoid... The soft shelled crab. (Any Japanese person will shed a painful tear, after they try this knock off. Wrong crab, wrong batter, wrong ponzu sauce. Ouch!!) ; The beer. (It's about 60F. What Japanese place serves anything but ice cold beer?) ; Any of the roll sushi. (The. roll sushi is average. Why pay a high price for mediocre sushi.) Want good sushi? Try Kurata in Lake Oswego Authentic and good.
