We read about this restaurant on Tripadvisor and were contemplating about trying it. When we checked into our hotel, the front desk also recommended this place. Our reservation was at 8pm and the place was in a state of "controlled chaos" with people everywhere when we got there. Judging from how busy the place was, we were totally surprised that we were seated right at 8pm and not minute later. It was evident from the beginning that these people pride themselves on service. Everyone, from the hostess to the bus person, was super friendly and attentive. The menu is extensive and our waitress was very very helpful. We had the lamb shank and wok-friend beef tenders. We are not experts when it comes to Peruvian food so we were not sure exactly how authentic this place is. The lamb was quite tender w/interesting flavors. The beef tenders seemed to be an inspiration from Chinese food and my only complaint is that it was very salty. We had an appetizer that was red pepper stuffed with rice and it was excellent. The appetizer section on the menu is very extensive and I see a lot of tables end up ordering a large section of these appetizers and call it a meal and that is probably a good way to do it at this place. The appetizers also come in different sizes. The entree size is very generous. All in all, I think this place found a winning formula which is first class service with generous portion and good food but I am not sure if it is truly gourmet food. Oh, there is also live music. The price is really very reasonable. We would certainly return the next time we are in Portland.
