“Chart House with a view”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 31, 2012

We ate dinner here last week with some friends. A really great view if you can get a table by one of the windows.

The seafood--as usual--is really good. The Oysters Rockefeller were delicious. I ordered the blackened salmon which was good, but could have been a little more spicy. Perhaps I should have told the waiter beforehand to spice it up.

Service is usually good. Unless they get real busy. Then a little patience is in order.

Great restaurant.

“Terwilliger location is best sunset view of mount hood and city”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 21, 2012

This is still a great special occasion place or for out of town visitors, yet the prices are reasonable enough to enjoy on a regular basis.

“This used to be my standby but not any more”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed December 14, 2012

The last 3 visits have had major food problems, 1 item sent back and one too salty to even eat. The view is still good, can't easily change that.

“Night View of South Waterfront, Portland, Oregon”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 12, 2012

Salads: The beefsteak tomatoes with feta on a bed of spinach was very good. The chopped salad was well prepared and quite good, I might add.
Main course: The sea scallops were excellent (Asian style); the short ribs were tender and tasty. The miso-glazed salmon with balsamic was very good.
Dessert: The chocolate mud pie was a good size portion so we split this. Yummy!
I ordered the three-course meal - $29.99 (salad, entree, dessert). Not overpriced.
They have a good wine selection and the view was great.
Service: Couldn't have been better.
Recommend: Yes.

“Decent food, so so service, very high prices likely still popular just because of the view.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed December 9, 2012 via mobile

The interior of the restaurant is tired, it reminds me of the late seventies, mid eighties, they need to update it seriously. The food is uninspired, everything is so plain and basic, nothing interesting or exciting about the menu. Service was just okay, after they brought dessert and coffee it took them at least a half an hour to check back if we needed more coffee. For such high prices you should get better food and better service other than just a beautiful view. Of course it's the view that keeps these guys in business and it is incredible. Overall, you'd be better to spend your money elsewhere in Portland a city that has a ton of excellent restaurant.
