When my husband and I were on vacation in Portland in September we loved the Roxy. It's a place with all the flare of a drag queen and if you go there at 12 or 3 am you might see one! It has Egyptian priestesses on the brightly painted walls, signed celebrity photos, toasters holding happy green plants, and a large crucifixion of Jesus over the jukebox with a bright neon halo. It’s tacky but it’s cute! The food is cheap and worth your time. This place has character and free internet service for your wireless fiends. My husband and I kept coming here for a cheap hot breakfasts (their pancakes were light, fluffy, buttery and good, the bacon crispy and done right) they also offer voodoo doughnuts. And my husband enjoyed his favorite breakfast of hash browns, ham, a glass of milk and a salad. The burgers were ok, the lunch and dinner menu was fair not great but not bad. This is more of a late night snacking or early morning place and the staff was super friendly but we always seemed to be there during the slow periods. Also we are polite and good tippers, which always seem to put wait staff in a good mood. They also have great souvenirs, t-shirts and mugs! So if you are looking for a place that's open 24 hours (except for Mondays) to satisfy your post clubbing cravings, or a place where 2 people can get a hot breakfast for under $7downtown this is the place for you. We would go back in a heartbeat. The Roxy is righteous and a little piece of Portland kitsch that has to be seen to be believed!
