It has been over 25 years since my last visit and little has changed. The decor and ambiance of this 100 year old bar is the real deal. Their signature dinner is a full American turkey dinner with all the trimmings. Nothing nouvelle cuisine about this, it is just plain middle American roast turkey with dressing, gravy. Mashed potatoes and a vegetable. Plus of course, cranberry sauce and fresh homemade bread. I chose sweet potato instead of mashed potatoes.
A reasonable child's menu offers several good choices, including turkey or ham dinner for under $10 a plate. This was an ample dinner for most adults as well.
Service was cordial and efficient and we were well served on a busy Friday night.
The surrounding neighborhood is a little sketchy as some downtown Portland districts have become.
Huber's is a Portland tradition that should be supported by locals and visitors alike.
We were too full for their famous Spanish Coffee or their interesting dessert menu. Dinner for 4 with appetizers and drinks: under $100. :)
