“I do not recommend this hotel”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed November 24, 2011

I usually stay at hotels close to the center or close to a shopping mall and this was the case. The location is perfect which I believe is the reason for the rate being what it is because the place is horrible. It is old, smells weird and the rooms...first of all the bed sheets are really old and the pillows are horrible. I was afraid to use the pillow as it was so old and made me feel uncomfortable. I think this place is good if you are just looking for perfect location and not very expensive however for the quality of the hotel it should be half the price it is. The staff was ok but I would not recommend it to my friends.

The saying "you get what you pay for" is more relevant to me then ever. I was impressed by the price of the room, location, and front desk staff was really helpful. Hell I was even willing to have a sense of humor about the pubes on the bathroom floor. But after seeing a bed bug on the bed my mood and perception of the place was immediately soured.

Don't be tempted by the price. Well unless you want a bed bug infested bed!

The location is fantastic. Just over the bridge to downtown, close to the Rose Quarter / Lloyd Centre. And fareless square makes it free to travel downtown. The Good: Staff are nice and Internet has to be the fastest WIFI I have had in a hotel (even when you compare to Westin Hotels!). The hotel is basic. Has TV and Cable. The bed sheets are very clean. The rooms, hotel, furniture are dated and tired looking. Albeit rooms are kept clean and tidy. And the price is so cheap so what would you expect? You don’t expect a 5 star banquet when you go to McDonalds right? The location is great and if renovated then I would still come. But having said that I come to Portland for the city and shopping so I only use the room for sleeping. Rooms are ok. If you are after a budget hotel better than a hostel then it is worth it.

Room Tip: Not overlooking the MAX line if youre a light sleeper.

I read reviews prior to making reservation and reluctantly called and inquired comments re; online reviews, ultimately booked one night. I waited 20+ to check in.Room was so ranchy and stinky i could hardly stay-if garage was not so unsafe, i would have slept there.Toilet not cleaned w hair on seat, sink didnt drain, internet, tho ensured on phone worked, did not-I was logged in but too little bars to work. Coffee still in pot from last quest. didnt even wear slippers as i didnt want them to touch floor.checked matteress for bedbugs, and OMG the mattress had to be 30+ yrs old. couldnt open slide door for air and listen to tv at same time, as Trimet was one floor down and ran continuously. NEVER STAY THERE- save $78 sleep under burnside bridge!!

Room Tip: Dont stay here!

Not a bad spot for hotel, but terrible hotel. It was rated at 2 stars, don't know how it got the rating...not even a 1 star. The staff (all one of them), was friendly and helpful...but does not have much to work with. hotel has signage stating NO SMOKING, but our first room assignment had STRONG smoke smell and very strong animal smell. They attempted to mask odors with very strong chemical smell. We requested another room and had the same problem. Carpet and furniture very stained, as was the bed covers...most likely from pets. All rooms are available for pets...I believe it would be best to reserve only a portion for pets. Got in to late to leave, but 1st thing in the morning....we packed and left, with burning eyes (due to chemical smell).

Room Tip: No good rooms here, all rooms are available for occupants with PETS (that mark their territory)

Were some noisy guest at around 2 am both nights I stayed there but it did not last long. Good location for the Rose Quarter and the hotel is quite decent. Not luxury, but you would not expect that for the price.
