“Family Friendly and Yummy”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 10, 2012

Visiting family with pre-schoolers made Foster Burger a hit with all. Kids could color, adults could talk in a casual sitting with some fun vintage concert posters lining the walls (which made for great conversation choosing your favorite name for a band!). This family snarfed up a large order of black and white fries with an unusual but peppy tasting dipping sauce that even the kids enjoyed. We'll leave the secret ingredient for you to discover! We had our burgers char-broiled and they came with a juicy center for perfect 'yumminess' topped by the fresh bakery bun. The mini-burger was almost regular-sized but one picky pre-schooler polished off half with fries in no time flat. His auntie polished off the other half in addition to her Foster Burger. We topped it off with a family shared chocolate shake and declared dinner a satisfying, if overstuffed, success. Our waiter was delightful and attentive. We had happy hour prices on the burgers so our wallets went home happy, too. A laid-back Portland experience that was just right.

“Bland”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed August 22, 2012

If Burger is in the name of your restaurant, above almost everything (except cleanliness), the meat on the burgers has to be tasty. This was not the case at Foster Burger. Even with adding some toppings (at additional charge), the meat was bland. The large bun, made fresh next door, would be delicious toasted with a little butter. But, alas, this is not part of the prep, so the overall effect is lacking. I must say, though, the waitress was a joy and the environment was pleasant.

“Just right size and taste”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 8, 2012

Recommended by a friend in the know. Had a Foster mini burger...really a regular size serving. You can add whatever you want so burg comes just as you like it. Great char grilled flavor. 1/2 order of fries shared between two were superb.

Ambiance as described by others but in spite of noise sounds were ones you can talk over in those high sided booths.

Several people came and picked up to go brown bags so you know it is good.

“Holy crap great burgers.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 22, 2012

My wife and I ate here after researching where to get a burger in portland. Not dissappointed. She had the Kiwi burger (lamb burger with pickled beets, easy egg etc...). I had the Burner. Both were awesome. We liked that it is a no frills establishment that's all about the burgers. The atmosphere was a lot like a barbeque joint. Simple booths and tables; southern rock on the stereo.
