“Excellent, local food & great environment”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 22, 2012 via mobile

Worth the walk from your hotel Or travel from your local home, this restaurant is amazing. Great food and excellent atmosphere and waitstaff.

We had the cauliflower tempura, local salad, steak, and Mac and cheese.

Hint: share...big portions

Recommendation for restaurant: don't charge for bread...you are much better than that!

“Dining disaster!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed September 28, 2012 via mobile

Problem1: long wait for the bottle of wine we ordered-couldn't find it so offered an alternative (cheap wine from Costco).
Problem 2: longer wait for entree. Too long of a wait.
Problem 3: 2 bites into the seared scallops chomped down on a huge piece of broken plate that was in the food. Didn't want to wait even longer...server offered a bowl of lobster bisque.
Problem 4: bus person starts clearing the table and attempts to take an unfinished glass of wine...apologizes and offers to comp another glass
Problem 5: wait for the check, it arrives and includes the comped wine and bisque
Problem 6: asked the waitperson about the check including the wine and bisque....she has to talk to manager. We waited and waited...finally revised check arrives with glass of wine deducted. Really? "You serve a diner a dish with pieces of broken dish in it and bring a bowl if soup to replace it and don't comp the soup?" Question to the waitperson and she has to go talk to the manager again.
Problem 7: even longer wait while manager contemplates how to treat a customer who bit down on broken porcelain. Manager BTW never comes to the table to greet diners and/it offer any sort of "I'm sorry."
Problem 8: tired of the wait...ask for the manager to come to the table. Manager arrives...no apology..."what do you want?" We're angry by then...tell him we want him to take care of the whole check. Ask him why he never came to the table to apologize, etc..said he was in the kitchen talking to the cooks about what happened...didn't think he needed to talk to the diners. Said there's nothing more he could do for us. Argue that our experience was a disaster and he had an opportunity to make it right or face poor reviews online...basically told us he didn't care about the bad reviews...

“Don't Go to Davis Street Tavern”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed September 28, 2012

Don't ever go to the Davis Street Tavern - they feed you glass and charge you for it. The food is good but they waits are long and the management doesn't care - about glass in the food or the waits.
I offered they eat the bill or take bad reviews anywhere I can post them - he chose the bad reviews.
Great room, good food when you get it - the management sucks!!!

“Good Food”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 20, 2012

The dinner offerings here were interesting and excellent. I had a yummy risotto with pesto made from hazelnuts - very tasty. The beer offerings, the ambiance, and the service were all good. I would go again.
