“Interesting way to spend a couple hours”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 7, 2013

The Saturday Market (also happening on Sundays) is an interesting way to spend some time and get a feel for Portland. It's literally right on the Skidmore stop for the Red/Blue line so easy to get to/from. Right on the Willamette River also. Many of the craft vendors are quirky in the Portland manner but fun nonetheless. Some good to very good food vendors. Even a couple of craft beer vendors so you can stroll with a beer (within certain limits).

“Worth a walk”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed July 5, 2013

The Saturday market is a strange conglomeration of really bad art, leftover hippie types, and a smattering of interesting things. The majority of the blocks long event can be found at a county fair - tie-dyed clothes, knit beanies, tacky T-shirts, over scented soap, etc. But, on a sunny afternoon, it is great fun to grab a delicious bite to eat from one of the many food trucks and watch all the characters. There were many talented and gifted buskers/performers adding to the fun chaos. This is not for the timid or fragile - it is a crowded and dynamic environment, unfortunately bounded on several sides by a slightly sketchy few blocks of walking. However, the biking/walking path is immediately adjacent, as well. All in all, a great way to stretch your legs and have a bit of a silly time.

“It's on Sunday too”

A huge craft and food vendor market that goes on for blocks and blocks. Look closely and you may find some gems among the vendors.

“Enjoyed local crafters and food! Go here if you are in Portland on a weekend!”

Also, open on Sundays which is when we went. It is located near Chinatown and partially on the water. Friendly vendors! Can take public transportation easily to get here!

“Fun for a visit”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 26, 2013

If you're artsy or into local crafts, this is the place for you. It's a fun place to stop by if you have a Saturday morning free and the weather is good. I didn't eat here, but the food looked/smelled amazing.
