“Come early to enjoy the sights”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 12, 2013

We arrived shortly after 10 am and spent an hour strolling through the booths. Best time ever to actually see all the cool things and not just get moved along by the crowds. We found 3 pair of earring for $7 by a woman who makes them from shells and Iphone 4 cases. Fun way to spend a Saturday morning!

“Back in 1969...”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 9, 2013

OK, it is a street fair, with booth after booth of ... stuff, and street entertainers, and booth after booth of ... food. Prices are not what I would call cheap, because they are not, but it was nice. The variety of food was quite incredible, although it seemed to me that all the vendors may have been related, NOT THAT THERE IS ANYTHING WRONG WITH THAT.

Anyhoo, I had fried fish and chips. Fried and fried and fried. Way over-cooked, and greasy, but hey, I asked for it. All in all, a fun Saturday noon.

“Art and imports”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 30, 2013

The portion of the market that is just underneath the Burnside bridge you will be "quickly told" is for the true Artisans. The artist has to be in the booth, they have to be able to demonstrate their art. This is a beautiful thing. The imports are across the street toward Ash street. Just try to walk away without a treasure. P.S. the Saturday market is open on Sunday too ; - )

“Best Open Air Market in America”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 26, 2013

I have been here twice in the past year and I will never get tired of this place. If you're new to Portland, this place will expose you to the soul of the city. From the artsy crowd, the various ethnic food tents, lots of tattoos and beards, one of a kind t-shirts, bikers, runners and musicians. It was all there for everyone to see. The laid back culture, the cool peeps and the proud.

“You can find something for everyone here!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 23, 2013

It was an experience to walk through the saturday market. It is very large, on both sides of the street. You could spend hours there walking around and looking at all the crafts, vendors and enjoying all the different types of foods they have available. There are many of the same types of souvenir items from one booth to the next, so be sure to walk around first. I enjoyed people watching and listening to the entertainment that had available.
