“Very nice, varied collection- worth visiting”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 20, 2014

This was a good medium sized museum with a diverse collection. We spent over 3 hours here and I would say you should allow at least 2 hours to really see everything. The cafe didn't really seem to have much in terms of food but you can leave the museum and come back without a problem. If you are vegetarian and looking for something quick, Veggie Grill (508 SW Taylor St. between 5th and 4th ave), is a good option not too far from the museum.

“O.K. Collection”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed July 16, 2014

The collection is not that impressive although it is nicely displayed. It is a pleasant way to spend an afternoon, though.

“Gives MoMA a run for it's endowment”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 13, 2014

Very good, probably as good as the Brooklyn museum. Some very interesting pieces that spur the imagination.

“Excellent modern and classic collections”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 8, 2014

Located in downtown Portland along Portland's Broadway and fronting on a beautiful park, the 2 buildings (one of them a former Freemason Temple) have several floors of classic, modern, avant-garde collections - enough for hours of browsing!

Parking is available on the street and in nearby lots. Be careful where you park on the street - some of the sections are 1 hour, some 2 hours, and a couple are 3 hours - just be sure to read the sign before you park. You are directed to a nearby kiosk to pay for the metered parking.

“Beautiful collection, well done”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 2, 2014

While some of the modern art leaves me scratching my head (Is it art if it looks like its been done witj a paint roler?) this is well worth the visit. The photographic collection is wonderful, with picees from several periods. The Native American collection totally blew me away. Some of the costumes were extraordinary. The very large feast bowl was fantastic. Don;t miss this excellent gallery.
