“Incredible bookstore!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 16, 2013

Huge bookstore on multiple floors. Well stocked with new and used books in every genre. Helpful staff. It's possible to spend hours in here. Interesting lay out, would recommend as a must visit for all readers on any trip to Portland.

“One of the most amazing bookstores ever”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 15, 2013

So much to do and see in more than one building and on more than one floor. I could have spent DAYS here. Nicest people, interesting layout. Barnes & Noble - can't touch this! A must-do when visiting Portland.

“A book lover's paradise.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 14, 2013

This store is HUGE! I was overwhelmed by all the books they had. It was crazy. I went just to look around and it was worth it. I love that they hand out maps because the store is so big. If you go make sure you go up to the Rare Book Room on the top floor! It is amazing! the have books from the 1600's. They have a great selection of used books as well as new ones and prices are affordable. I personally love just the thought of all those books because I don't like all the e-readers and this store is awesome because it hasn't been ruined by technology. It is peaceful and calm even when there are lots of people. If you are an avid reader this is a must see but even if you aren't take an hour and just look around.

“An adventure all in it's own!!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 14, 2013

What an amazing book store! It's like an adventure all in its own! There's a wonderful cafe where you can relax and read, many levels and rooms of books, new and used (used are typically in excellent condition) new with a large selection of each, very clear maps to find your way around (beware the elevator it has multiple doors), we drive there when we go and have never had a difficult time finding a parking space (just remember change for the meter), and have found more than what we were looking for and were pleased to do so! They also have other fun items for purchase, very helpful staff, it's a clean well managed store, and has restrooms enough to accomodate the many patrons. We have gone in-and-out for quick purchases and have stayed many hours just browsing. What a selection! We love coming here and will be back!

“Rooms and more rooms of books”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 12, 2013 via mobile

Books (including used books for sale and purchase), gifts, coffee, and more in multiple rooms on multiple levels. Directories are on the walls and they also have maps to help you find your way around. Staff members located in each room were friendly and knowledgeable, taking time helping people.
