“Other Hidden Treasures in the Columbia Gorge”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 9, 2012

Getting off I-84 at Troutdale and turning left just past the factory outlets, takes you on a beautiful 2 lane drive to all of the falls. In the process you will find Crown Point a structure you can see from the Interstate below and a great place to stop for pictures! Further down the road, you can turn left to Larch Mountain which is about a 15 mile drive. From there you can view Mt. Adams, Mt, Ranier, Mt. Jefferson and most of the Cascade range located in Central Oregon. You will also come across a sign pointing to Angel Falls. Great area and a managable walk of about 1/4th mile to huge falls hidden from the highway. Lots of picnic areas, hiking trails directly to each of the falls. A great day trip from the Portland area! Food and restrooms at Multnomah falls and some of the small falls.

“Stop to see the waterfalls”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 8, 2012

Columbia River Gorge to Hood River is about an hour's total drive. Don't rush it. Make an afternoon of it by taking the old scenic drive that runs along the many waterfall vistas. There are several hiking options along the way, too.

“Beautiful place!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 7, 2012

Multnomah Falls is right off the road, and even though it is busy and a popular tourist spot, it's well worth the short hike to see the falls. The entire road is filled with vistas, cliffs, and trees. There are numerous places to stop and hike, and places to get local fruit from stands. The trip up to Hood River is fun, with some great places to stop once you get to that city, including Full Sail Brewery.

“Amazing Views!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 7, 2012

Unfortunately there was road construction, so we couldn't drive the entire hwy through the gorge, but after not expecting a lot, the views were magnificent - and the view down the river was just incredible - don't miss Multnomah Falls!!! And be sure to have a nice jacket on a windy day - brrr!!
