“Stay redeemed previous poor customer service experience”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 2, 2013

I had previously written a poor review based on customer service so bad it prevented my stay. I had to stay here for an event and was pleasantly surprised. The rooms are well maintained and updated for a hotel of this age. We had a problem with the air conditioning and maintenance was incredibly responsive. The walls are a little thin and if your neighbors are noisy you will here it, but the road traffic was not bad. The breakfast was good and included. If you go to the breakfast, remember that the line coming out the door is only for the first buffet. Pass it and go in you will find more options. The pool is clean and very kid friendly, with a tiny water fall too. There are two hot tubs. I'd stay there again.

This hotel is very well located. The room was spacious, the beds were very good, but the noise of the street is a big no-no. They do not have double windows so you can hear it quite well. The bathroom was very clean, the staff is very helpful. You can ask for robes and complimentary towels. I certainly shall stay there again, but not in a room looking over the very noisy streets!!

No problem with the noise. But I had one of the mezzanine suites. Perhaps they have more sound proofing. I love the high ceilings. The bedroom is elevated rather than in a separate room, so those with children may want more privacy. I loved the huge table for spreading out items on. It would also be great for a business meeting. Staff was absolutely top notch. This is my go to hotel when I am in Portland. We walked to and from the Keller Auditorium. Breakfast was super, egg white omelet. Yummy.

Room Tip: Ask for the mezzanine floor or a room on the eight floor with a view of the mountains.

Loved everything about this hotel. People, eating, and the feeling of being downtown and really not feeling like it. Very comfortable. And, of course we were next to Voodoo Doughnut which is great, but you have to watch to plan your visit when the line isn't so long!

From the beautiful lobby to the complimentary happy hour to the included breakfast to the spacious rooms, staying here is always a delight. The service is great, as is the location. When I am working in this part of Portland, the Embassy Suites is always my first choice.

We were greeted into the beautiful lobby by extremely friendly hosts. Then we found out about the complimentary happy hour and were blown away. We travel and stay in many hotels and you can't get the value for the money like we did here.

Clean, comfortable hotel that I would highly recommend. Great location, convenient to many downtown locations, including dining, the convention center, and just a short walk from the MAX trains. Staff was friendly and eager to help.
