“Great place, especially for happy hour”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 27, 2014

We happened to visit this brewery just in time for happy hour specials, and had a great experience. Their IPA is the best organic beer I've ever had, and many of the other beers I sampled were also good. Their happy hour food specials are a great value, especially the pretzels which were enough for three people to share. The salad, for under $3, was also good and cheap. Our server was super friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable. My favorite brewery in Portland so far.

“Not Your Everyday Brew Pub”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 4, 2014

Hopworks Urban Brewery (HUB) adds both good food to great beers, all at reasonable prices. We have never been disappointed on our visits, and the other evening was no exception. The other evening I had their calzone (enough left over for lunch for two) and a secession beer. My wife remarked about the generosity of meat and feta as filling. The beer, while new to me, was dark hopsy brew that did not disappoint. Yes, the place can be busy, often with a wait for the table. Sound level is a might high for intimate conversations. Finally, I found the servers to be both knowledgeable and well trained.

“Great family friendly pub!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 30, 2014

HUB was a great stop for our family. There is a fun kids play are with chalkboard wall and toys. The staff was very helpful and friendly - especially when we told them of our son's allergies, they helped us figure out which items would be safe for him to eat and alerted the kitchen staff. The food was great and reasonably priced. And the root beer they brew was great too!

“I'd pass on this one”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed March 10, 2014

ncredibly noisy, especially when you are seated in the back room, which is the designated family/toddler room - and no, we didn't have young children. We asked to be moved, but that did not happen, for reasons unknown. Impossible to hear the wait staff, and obviously impossible for them to hear you as the order was not accurate. Our server acted like he heard requests for things like water, but then walked away and no water was delivered. Salad was delivered, alas, no utensils to be had. Bill was asked to be split - it wasn't - and when we checked to see how much our portion was noticed that $1.50 was charged for the sole beer tasting that was requested. That has never happened anywhere and we were shocked. Spoke with the manager, who flippantly told us "we would be taken care of" next time we came in - of course he didn't ask for our names and there is absolutely no way he would remember us - if we chose to return, which we won't.

“Funky cool place - great service”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 4, 2014

We discovered this place on the way out of Portland. Great beer (of course) but service was the star. Our waitress was friendly and made great recommendations. Pizza is light with thin crust and all local fresh ingredients. Try the pretzels; no really, they are amazing.
