“Portland 1/2”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 4, 2014

Staff was very welcoming and helpful. I loved how the front doors were opened for you by the front desk staff as you walked in. Rooms were spacious and I loved being able to open up the window and the use the comfy Robes!!! It was the perfect location for everything that I needed to do In Portland.

Room Tip: I think any room has a good view of the city.

What a wonderful stay our group had. We were four women in two rooms adjacent to each other. The staff was amazing…friendly, helpful and energetic. We took advantage of the happy hour daily and made it our evening meal one night. Played cards outside in the evening.

Had a great stay. The room was clean and internet access was appreciated. The staff were helpful and friendly. Parking prices in the downtown area are high but can be obtained at the hotel or the surrounding area.

I found the room nice but it seemed expensive for the what you get. The location is very good based on what we were there for. The restaurant and the food was very good, I will say that so it was excellent in that fashion.

We just stayed 4 excellent nights at the Hotel Modera. Of particular note was the friendliness of the staff - to a person they were helpful, cheery and knowledgeable about directions and restaurants in the neighborhood. Particularly helpful was Lacy, who after I asked about breakfast places nearby, went to the computer and came up with a list of some 10 places that she had researched, rated and made notes about. The location is great, just a few blocks away from the more congested heart of the city but a nice walk to numerous bars and restaurants. We recommend this hotel to any visitor to Portland.

Charlie E

Room Tip: A room with the garden view was especially nice.

Close to great restaurants and bars. Powell's bookstore and Pioneer Square are an easy walk from the hotel. Comfortable clean rooms, free wi-fi, lovely decor, and a hotel lobby restaurant with great food and craft beer. Reasonably priced, I'd definitely stay here again.

If there is a heat wave in Portland, you won't want to stay here. Twice we were caught in Portland during a heat wave. Between 80-90 degrees. No it's not often, but it does happen.
The room was so hot we couldn't sleep. We opened window which helped, but let in a lot of town noise. Out side of that, Hotel Modera has a great location, good food at their restaurant, a great bar, you can sit outside at the fire pit. The staff is very friendly. We just won't go back during a heat wave.
