My boyfriend wanted to suprise me with a "car-less" trip to Portland for Valentines day. We took the Amtrak from Seattle. He ended up booking this hotel on accident, he thought he booked one closer to the down town Portland, once we realized that we were at the wrong place, the Shilo Inn Beaverton sent a shuttle to come and get us. It is not in the downtown area but the rooms are very clean and they let us check in very early. We were able to order room service and that was a great suprise. A very nice hotel for the price.

“In need of renovation”

Shilo Inn Hotel Portland / Beaverton

Just visited this hotel this weekend and left disappointed. All we wanted was something clean, comfortable and close to downtown Portland. We planned on spending much of our time exploring Portland. I too read the reviews, and had to wonder who wrote the stellar reviews. I tried to think of a positive with this hotel and had a hard time. Oh wait, it was close to the Portland zoo and downtown. The hotel is in serious need of a renovation, though I read on another website that it has been refurbished, not sure when???. We had the "executive suite" the room was dingy and run down. There is a funky smell, maybe a mixture of pet and smoke. There isn't a freeway nearby but, you wouldn't know it by the sounds of (what felt like) cars driving through the middle of the room at all hours of the night. Not very quite. I got up several tiimes during the night to recheck the windows to make sure they were closed. Since every noise sounded like it was right in your room, it was hard to sleep. The pictures that I have found on the web do this hotel the justice it doesn't deserve. I still have yet to find a picture of the front of the hotel that you pull up to, maybe I should have taken pictures. Maybe it was a good marketing idea to not show that picture. Not exactly family friendly either, I have to agree that it is geared towards the adults. There aren't any elevators either so pack light or be prepared to lug your suitcases, cooler (since we bring our own bottled water) or what have you up several flight of stairs. Unless you are one of the fortunate people who get a room on the floor level. We are frequent travelers and have stayed in many different types of hotels, but this is one I wouldn't choose to revist.

“Warm and Hospitable!”

Shilo Inn Hotel Portland / Beaverton

After a driving all day, we decided to get a hotel for the night. We didn't expect much, since this wasnt our final destination, but were delightfully surprised. The front desk clerk greeted us as though she'd known us for years, asked if we wanted a complimentary coffee or fresh fruit while she set up our reservation which was so nice.

Our room was good, very comfy bed after a long day in a cramped car.

The room came with breakfast in the morning, which to us, was awesome, considering we got a real nice deal on the room, being a AAA member. It was nice to get a warm meal!! Most of the other hotels simply had your basic cereal, bagel--not this hotel, full service breakfast.

Overall, we were very pleased with our surprise stop to Portland on our way to the coast.

“Great Place at the Right Price”

Shilo Inn Hotel Portland / Beaverton

We stayed at the Shilo Inn Beaverton Hotel in December while visiting family members over the holidays. When we arrived we were welcomed with a smile by the front desk agent that quickly checked us in and made a reservation at the hotel for our return to home The lobby was decorated very festive with a huge Christmas tree. The rooms were suprisingly large complete with a refridgerator, microwave, and coffee maker. This is a plus to extend our budget during the holidays with warming up holiday leftovers and such. The view overlooking the fountain and Gazebo area were outstanding. We even were able to relax in the hot tub in the evening which was open to my surprise in December.

We enjoyed the complimentary breakfast in the restaurant and sat by the warm fire in the dining room area. This was a great way to start off our day. Our stay was both relaxing and enjoyable. It was a great rate with a great experience. I highly reccomend the hotel to anyone traveling in the area. Thank you Shilo Inn for making our Christmas so wonderful!

“Friendly and Comfortable!”

Shilo Inn Hotel Portland / Beaverton

Don't judge a book by it's cover! It may not look too hot from the front but it's nice and comfortable inside. My room was very clean and tidy, bed was comfy. Employees were very nice. They have a new restaurant called the Northwest Grille and the food was delicous! There's a nice courtyard behind the hotel that you wouldn't think would be there from the front. There's a waterfall display and little pond, also a gazebo and a pool. It was a very nice stay! I recommend it if you're in the Beaverton, Or area around Canyon Rd. & Hwy 217. Thanks!
