Other reviewers had described the location as favorable. I would agree only if you drive in. Even though it’s a few minutes’ walk from Jeld-Wen Field light rail stops, unless you are familiar, it could be a small ordeal upon first arrival to walk uphill in a cold, dark, rainy night to look for this hotel oddly tucked in a residential area.
I saw no stores/restaurants in the immediate vicinity. Taco Bell, Panda Inn, and McDonald’s required a short drive around the corner on Burnside street. For breakfast, the receptionist recommended a nearby bakery. The flyer menu showed some good baked selections, but I thought a Sunday breakfast should be more, even more than chewing and sipping al fresco at a farmer’s market, as hip as that could be. So motivated, Gracie’s inside Hotel Deluxe on SW 15th Avenue for ham, egg, potato, smoked salmon, and coffee was a bit of heaven, and well worth the downhill walk in drizzling rain from Salmon Street.
For three nights, the best amenities in Park Lane Inn with two queen beds were the hot shower and enough fluffy white towels. No chair, no coffee maker, and no hair dryer. Nice little flat screen television. Two hooks—one at the door and one on the wall—in the batheroom. 45°F outside and rainy, I tried the HVAC next to my bed, but opted to fold double the thin thermal blanket and wore more clothing, instead of having air and noise blowing at me all night. All said the room looked generally tidy, and I got the needed sleep under a roof. Half bottle full.
