“No coffee maker?”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed October 24, 2012

Other reviewers had described the location as favorable. I would agree only if you drive in. Even though it’s a few minutes’ walk from Jeld-Wen Field light rail stops, unless you are familiar, it could be a small ordeal upon first arrival to walk uphill in a cold, dark, rainy night to look for this hotel oddly tucked in a residential area.

I saw no stores/restaurants in the immediate vicinity. Taco Bell, Panda Inn, and McDonald’s required a short drive around the corner on Burnside street. For breakfast, the receptionist recommended a nearby bakery. The flyer menu showed some good baked selections, but I thought a Sunday breakfast should be more, even more than chewing and sipping al fresco at a farmer’s market, as hip as that could be. So motivated, Gracie’s inside Hotel Deluxe on SW 15th Avenue for ham, egg, potato, smoked salmon, and coffee was a bit of heaven, and well worth the downhill walk in drizzling rain from Salmon Street.

For three nights, the best amenities in Park Lane Inn with two queen beds were the hot shower and enough fluffy white towels. No chair, no coffee maker, and no hair dryer. Nice little flat screen television. Two hooks—one at the door and one on the wall—in the batheroom. 45°F outside and rainy, I tried the HVAC next to my bed, but opted to fold double the thin thermal blanket and wore more clothing, instead of having air and noise blowing at me all night. All said the room looked generally tidy, and I got the needed sleep under a roof. Half bottle full.

The hotel is called Park suites and Inn, but where is the Park? This hotel is located in a residential area. It is close to the Max Rail, we took the Red line to Jeld Wen stop. It is a block uphill from the stop. When we checked in, the staff was cordial, but abrupt. I wonder if he had a game he was watching, because we were chatting with him and he just disappeared. He was surprised we waited for him to return so we could finish our conversation. They agreed to keep our luggage until our room was cleaned and we returned. The coffee, cookies, fruit, and fruit flavored water all are located in the "big" building and the Inns are located down the hill across the street in an older motel/refurbished unit. The unit had two beds, a vinyl floor, TV, suitcase holding thingy, NO chair, NO coffee in the room. Bathroom had no tub, not a problem, just note there was no tub, a pedestal sink, and the towels were yummy, the pillows fluffy. The room was okay, the corners of the bathroom needed a more precise clean in the corners. Seems they had been ignored The next day we checked out, the counter guy, was friendly, but unwilling to look up, what rate we had paid. He said, "check your confirmation email. It will tell you what you paid. " The food/drink available was not set up, there was no water, the coffee was gone, and he knew it was almost empty, but waited for us to ask for more coffee. So the room was okay, the service less than average. i don't hate to think it, but perhaps these young men have an "ageists" attitude.

Room Tip: Our room was on the back side of the building and it was quieter. Good thing because the walls are...

We were really impressed with this hotel on our recent visist to Portland. Check in was quick, staff extremely helpful and friendly. Coffee, hot drinks and biscuits are available all day in the reception area. Rooms a good size, trendy with nice decor, clean and comfortable. Located within short walking distance to the MAX transport. Would definitely stay here again.

Room Tip: Stay on the top floor as far away from the stairs as possible

We were upgraded to a suite with a kitchen when the staff learned we were on our honeymoon and it was FANTASTIC! The suite was spacious and convenient and homey -- we slept very well! The staff was super helpful and even provided us with a map of the best sights to see in Portland -- dinner recommendations and all! The staff also recommended an amazing day hike and it was beautiful! We were able to enjoy the city life and the forest in Portland with the help of the staff of Park Lane Suites and Inn (especially Charles!). What a wonderful way to end our honeymoon! Thank you!! We will be back!!

Very clean basic room, very comfy beds. Quiet good location, close to the Max, walking distance to 23rd. Took the Max to Pioneer Square and was able to walk from downtown > Waterfront > Pearl District > back to the hotel.

I stayed in the Park Lane for a girls trip with my aunt and baby sister. We had a fantastic time the property is beautiful and I love the convenient location to all the great food and shopping. The suite was beautiful and clean to my standards which is something I rarely encounter. I was so pleased with the staff and accommodations that I can't wait to come back and visit the park lane again. In fact I would be surprised if I ever stay anywhere else in Hilton Head.

Recently stayed at this hotel for 2 weeks. I had a small queen room in the "Inn". It was exactly as presented in the photos - clean, simple, modernistic (northern European style). For one person, long business trip - it was simple, clean and efficient. I had a first floor room and didnt experience some of the complaints others have posted about noise and thin walls. But, lets be honest - its really just a 3 star hotel, if that.
