Today we were a little ahead of the after-work rush so we were allowed to seat ourselves in our favorite booth at the back of Romio's. Tamara brought us our drinks after only a quick affirmation to make sure that we still wanted Pepsi. Because Tamara (the manager) is so knowledgeable about gluten-free eating I never had to specify "gluten-free" with anything I ordered. When Tamara asked "Soup or salad?" I responded, "Can I have the soup?" meaning “is it gluten-free?” because most soups aren’t; Tamara thought for a second and said "Yes, you can! He makes it himself and doesn't put anything bad in it." And she was right! The garlic potato soup was amazing! I was able to order the Four Cheese Baked Spaghetti with the addition of chicken (the chicken option is not on the menu, but Tamara spoils me even though I'm just a gluten-free customer who comes in once or twice a month) and my husband ordered the Chicken Marsala and the soup. We had a great meal, more food than we could eat, plenty to drink, and all in a friendly, comfortable restaurant that makes us feel very welcome and valued.
The restaurant is clean and delightfully decorated - even the rest-rooms. The staff is well-trained and helpful. The prices are reasonable. The service is quick and reliable. I love eating at Romio's! I just wish I'd had room to enjoy their delicious gelato.
