We recently drove the Oregon Coast w/ the Mill being the last stop. The hotel is in the middle of construction but we were not inconvenienced by any of it. The casino is small but there were plenty of machines available ( Thursday night ).
The room was better than we thought it would be. The bedspreads are so nice and comfortable. I thought they were Pendleton. It was nice to open the window for fresh air. There were a lot of fishing boats to see.
We had lunch @ the Timber Cafe. While it is a small place the menu offerred many items. Make sure you sign up for the Player's card. You are given a coupon book w/ one of them
$ 3.00 off a meal. A little advice- you need to order your meal at the counter ! We sat down first and realized that was the way to do it !
In the morning breakfast was @ the Plank House ( avail Fri, Sat & Sun ). The food was good w/ a pretty view.
They were sold out on the night we were there.. Glad we made reservations. There isn't a lot of places to stay. Bandon Dunes was a 25 minute drive away. If you don't mind the drive I would recommend this hotel The cost was $ 120. per night.

We recently stayed at the Mill Casino Hotel for four nights. We stayed in the jacuzzi suite room located on the third floor. The suite consisted of two rooms, the first room being a standard hotel room and the second room being a sitting room with a corner jacuzzi tub. The suite contained two full baths and three TV's. For guest convenience, the room included a safe, small coffee pot, complimentary bottled water, teas, coffee, and a daily newspaper. A bottle of champagne was delivered nightly. The accomodations were spacious and tastefully decorated and had a great view of the bay. Carmela from the housekeeping staff did a fantastic job of keeping the room absolutely spotless. There was a nightly turn down service. We ate two dinners and one breakfast at the Plank House restaurant inside the hotel. All three meals were delicious and reasonably priced. An excellent value for the money. The waitstaff were friendly and efficient. We visited the Ko Kwell gift shop several times during our stay. There are lots of items hand made by the Coquille tribal people. What most impressed us was a line of berry wines made by a gal by the named Tina. She has been making the wines for the past several years. She and her husband Russell design the wine labels and the logo for their wine glasses. We bought a bottle of her blackberry wine. We were impressed enough with its rich, smooth, slightly sweet flavor to seek her out so that we could order more wine from her. If you are in the gift shop, try a bottle of her wine. She makes four flavors. You won't be disappointed.

We were pleasantly surprised at the warmth and friendliness of each and every person we came into contact with at the hotel. Even so, one person in particular deserves special recognition. Her name is Dorothy. She works in the gift shop. She went out of her way to be friendly and helpful. She was also a good source of information about things to do in the area. And she was most helpful in assisting me to locate Tina the winemaker.

Oh, and since we are staying at a casino, let me mention that the casino offers Las Vegas style gaming options. The options include something in everyone's price range, from penny slots up to black jack and craps tables. There is also a sports bar and a 24 hour snack shop.

    • Liked — the spaciousness
    • Disliked — the property had a special parking section for hotel guests close to the hotel. The parking was not enforced, necessitating guests to park far away from the property while people just coming to gamble for a few hours parked in those spots reserved for overnights guests.

After a nice stay the year previous in one of their suites, we returned with our infant daughter w/o hesitation, this time staying in a standard room. When we opened the door, we were hit immediately with a very strong smell of men's colonge and smoke. It seemed obvious to me that the previous occupant had smoked in the nonsmoking room, and either intentionally splashed cologne to cover the smell, or accidently dumped an entire bottle somewhere in the room. It was atrocious. When we complained they brought up a machine that was supposed to clear out the room, but it didn't. It helped marginally. They either couldn't, or wouldn't move us, even with an infant, which was very frustrating, and instead dropped our rate down to 90 dollars a night. We spent as little time in the room as possible, and instead imposed on our family more than we had intended. The room curtains were filthy, it looked like a kid was playing hide and seek with a rack of bbq ribs behind them... they never were cleaned during our 3 day stay. Also, they either don't enforce, or allow smoking in the hallways, which were always hazy and stinky. I wouldn't stay there again until they get their act cleaned up!

We stayed at the Mill Casino for one week in June of
2005. Our advice for booking at this hotel is to
first, join the Millionaire's Club, you will save
money on your room. Also, request a bayside room.
The view is quite peaceful. The room service
we had was excellent. Highly recommend the
Millionaire Club sandwich! Also, every meal we
at at the Flank House restaurant in the hotel was
very very good! The staff was super friendly
and very attentive. This is the best hotel in
the area!
