“Nice cafe for breakfast or brunch”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 5, 2014

This is a nice little "hippie" type cafe conveniently located near the Nye Beach arts and shopping area of Newport, just blocks from the ocean. They serve free delicious fresh scones with whatever you order. The breakfast food tastes delicious and they serve the good coffee the Pactific NW is famous for. Service is friendly and quick.

Located in Nye Beach this is a small congenial place (popular too).
Fish tacos are one of my favorites.

“Nye Beach Treasure”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 5, 2014

We discovered Stephanie's on a recent trip to Newport. Tucked away in Nye Beach, this is a hidden gem. We arrived as they opened the doors in the morning and within a half hour all the tables were taken. There is also seating outside. They have really fresh coffee, and delicious muffins, made onsite. One morning we tried their marionberry muffins and another day it was the bran muffins with cranberries. We noticed when you order a breakfast plate, while you are waiting, they bring you fresh scones. We also tried their sandwiches at lunchtime and were not disappointed. The staff are all very friendly and helpful. Love this place!

“Poor service and over charged for our meal”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed July 30, 2014

We ate a late lunch here, and while the food was good the service was lacking and the price was surprising. After we ordered we notice they were taking the tables and chairs inside -- we didn't realize they closed at 3 p.m. While eating our server came and saw we needed drink refills. She said that she would be right back, but never returned. Turns out she was in the back doing cleanup as it was closing time. No more drinks for us!

Anyway, my sister ordered fish tacos and I ordered a whole Caesar salad. We mentioned to the serve that we would be splitting them. She offered to put half on each of two plates (rather than one plate with the salad and one plate with the fish tacos). Unfortunately instead of charging us for one whole salad (7.95) they charged us for two half salads (5.95 each). When I mentioned this the cashier was a bit put out that I would bring it up saying the difference was only one dollar -- must be new math. There was also an additional dollar added for something -- I have know idea what. Anyway when all was said and done I over paid for what we ordered. I think that it's great to offer to split meals for customers, but if there is to be an extra charge they should be made aware of it before hand, not after. A couple of the staff were discussing our order and mentioned that it was ok to split the Caesar salad since they did not give us two portions of bread -- they never gave us any bread with the salad!

Bottom line -- poor service, lacks attention to detail, and over charges.
