My husband and I were travelling from Canada with family visiting fom the UK; they were most surprised to discover that they were staying on a paddle boat but even more surprised by the lovely accomodaions, comfy beds, great food and wonderful hosts. Room sizes are larger than expeced and well decorated with an en suite in every room.

We found Newport to be a quaint litte sea port with the Newport Belle
adding to the views. The boat is well lit at nights and makes for some fabulous photographs. We all had a marvellous stay and would definately recommend to family and friends.

How can you go wrong with that combination? The boat (or is it ship?) serves as a great B and B. Forget the cramped quarters you associate with a cruise ship. The Innkeepers are very nice and you get the added bonuses of their dogs greeting you? Rooms are adquately sized, clean, and the breakfast was spectacular. Newport is also a nice city with good restaurants, although it does feel a tad touristy. We had a very nice time and look forward to going back.

Based upon prior reviews in Trip Advisor, my husband and I booked a night on the "only stern wheel riverboat in North America". Although when we arrived at the marina, saw a somewhat funky looking boat, and thought "uh-oh", we were very pleased when we entered the comfortable and warm living room area and found our bedroom to be decorated with very high-end linens, soft downy pillows and updated furniture and decorating. But the best part of our stay was meeting Nancy and Michael, two warm, wonderful, energetic and fun-loving hosts who enjoy meeting, greeting and talking to all of their clients. When I walked in with a cold, she immediately fixed me a hot toddy...it doesn't get much better than that!

I would highly recommend the Newport Belle for comfort, a different type of lodging experience, a great breakfast, and the opportunity to meet inviting hosts who know how to make you feel welcome and comfortable!

There is only one place to stay in Newport - really! A paddleboat as a B&B is just so "cool" - sorry to go all juvenile on you - but there
is no other word for it. I had an extended stay (for business) and just had a wonderful time. The boat is great - the owners are absolutely the best - it couldn't have been any better. (And Rogue brewery is only a short walk away!)
