Yaquina Head is one of the highlights of the mid coast. Whether it's sunny, rainy or foggy, the mood is tranquil and beautiful as you drive the winding road to the top of the hill where the lighthouse sits. Informative signage telling of various sea life, birds, etc. Below is a tidal area for exploring. Has handicap access as well.
The Visitor Centre is pretty swell, lots of information about the history of the place, with accompany old films to watch, an interactive area for families and something educational and fun to do. I highly recommend it - it's worth the admission. Get a season's pass, if you're going to visit more than once in a year.
