I seem to be the dissenting reviewer who felt this beach was overrated. I might be spoiled by growing up on Southern Oregon beaches, where you can find sand and tidal pools in the same place. First, many many steps to get down to it. Not horrible, they are study and with plenty of landings, but difficult to get down and back up with a toddler and he got two splinters from trying to use the old wooden railing. Very difficult to walk on the rocks to get to the tidal pools and beach, at least for the toddler and for me with a chronic pain condition. Once I got to the tidal pools that could be reached without much rockclimbing, I was disappointed that it was just a few anenomes and a lot of mussels. I'm used to seeing more diversity in a tidal pool, but maybe that was in the ones you had to scrabble to. We did enjoy watching the seals play in the water. Overall, this is probably a great beach for many people - it just wasn't great for our family with a small toddler and looking for something more accessible.
