great place to see some views and awesome short hikes to get in touch with nature, very quiet and expansive, not overwhelmed with tourists

“Choose your weather”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 15, 2013

Very worth visiting. The lighthouse is a great place to view gray whales on their twice-a-year migration. The interpretive center is nice, and there can be wildflowers depending on the time of year. Regardless, it can be WINDY any time, so prepare for that. Good tide pools in the old quarry, and lots of seals and stellar sea lions hang out here. Plan to spend at least one hour up to all day if the whales are there.

“No food available in this beautiful spot where you could spend the whole day!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 2, 2013 via mobile

Incredible beauty here. Two small hikes up hills for incredible panoramic views of the beach, para sailing takeoff spot, lighthouse, bird sanctuary viewpoint and interpretive center with gift shop. You could spend the day here watching wildlife, nature and surfers but take your own food-there's not even a weak cup of coffee available. Park closes too early for sunset viewing unfortunately.

“Breathtaking”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 26, 2013

Really really beautiful. Miles of beach to walk, and the ocean is right there. This was in walking distance from our hotel, right in the middle of the residential/hotel district.

“Nice spot”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 22, 2013

This is yet another lovely spot around Newport in which to take in the views, perhaps see a whale, al so some great tide pools. The staff are friendly and helpful. The most important thing for me though is that it gives a great overlook to check the surf conditions at Agate Beach
