This Lighthouse is absolutely beautiful, the views from the top are spectacular and I would definitely recommend going. You pay an entrance fee when you go into the main gate, (the area reminds me of a state park, or something like that) it was $7.00 at the time I was there and its a pass that is good for 2 or 3 days.
There is so much to do at this area, and the best thing is once you have paid the entrance fee nothing inside the gate costs to get into or do. Climbing the lighthouse, going into the interpretive center (which is a lot of fun) is no extra charge. In the interpretive center you can play old fashion games, play with toys from the era that the lighthouse was from, read the lighthouse keepers logs, and so much more. There are some spectacular tide pools close to the lighthouse, and I would definitely recommend checking out the cobblestone beach that is there too! The sound of the waves crashing on the cobblestones is unexplainable its a really neat sound! Bring your camera and wear comfortable shoes, its a lot of walking and going up those stairs you definitely don't want to wear sandals or anything like that, and I could easily spend all day there!
the time we went that I could get photos it was foggy so I did what I could with what I had, we have been here several times and actually the views are just as beautiful in the fog as they are normally but then again I am an artist so I tend to see beauty in all things and I think the fog can be beautiful
one last note: I would go up the lighthouse during the guided tours they really explain things well and you can ask lots of questions! You can go up by yourself, but its definitely not as entertaining.
