We stayed here for my husbands annual family camping trip. Our group of 35+ rented 7 spaces, there was a combination of trailers w/full hook-ups, tents and yurts. I stayed in a yurt w/ my family of 5. The yurts were nice size and were comfortable for a double bunk style bed and a futon, just bring extra sleeping bags and they are pretty comfortable. The restrooms and showers were clean and stocked better than most of the other campgrounds I have stayed at. Only real downside to the space was there were no garbage cans at each site. (my recommendation bring extra garbage sacks and you can take them to the big recepticle). And make sure that you keep your coolers and such inside at night because the squirrels and racoons are really good about opening them and getting you food.
There are a couple ways to get down to the beach, The first is straight over the hill and is a little steep so my recommended is beach to go down to the day use area to get down to the beach. The beach is huge, great for flying kites, ridding horse taking walks, digging holes, making sandcastles or just relaxing. The Campground is also located close to Newport so you can also visit the Hatfield Marine Science Center (which is great!!) and you are just a short walk to the Jetty for fishing and crabbing. Ah yes and if you don't get enough beer drinking in camp you can go to the Rouge Brewery for flights of beer (tasters)... Over all this is a really great campground to stay at.
