“Cheap and Clean”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 11, 2013

I have traveled all around the world and have stayed in the best and the worst. This hotel is not the biggest and may not have a lot of extras but it is cheap, in town, has free wi-fi and breakfast and the staff is amazingly friendly. We were upgraded for a small fee when there was no extra bed available. I never stay in the hotel so why pay a premium to just store your luggage and sleep. If you are looking for a family place with a pool, this is not the right hotel for you, but if you want to spend your money on your holiday or business trip instead of your hotel, this is a great hotel for the money. A must stay if you are traveling for business in the Newport area. Kristin@celticattic.com

Stayed here several years ago with my daughter and it was not well managed. My partner and I have stayed here twice recently on business trips and the new owners have made a big difference. The rooms are clean and good sized and if you need anything, just ask...they are happy to accommodate you.

Excellent value for an inexpensive motel at the beach! We stay in a lot of motels on our business throughout Oregon, and will definitely continue to stay here when we need a place in Newport.

Room Tip: We prefer the lower level in the back building, but any room will do.

I checked in around 9pm on a thursday night , im in town for work ,, the clerk gave a postage stamp sized room with a bright light right outside of the window --- i knew i would never get any sleep in this room ..I went to the front desk and told the clerk I needed another room , the light was the deal killer and explained why , she gave a room twice the size and twice as nice ! for the same price - which had me wondering why i didnt get this room in the first place ????

If you are looking for a decent motel while staying in Newport, Oregon, this is it. It's not fancy, the furniture isn't new, there's no pool, and there is a little highway noise. The heater/AC worked, didn't run out of hot water, the room was clean, no unpleasant odors, wide parking spaces, free WIFI, and pleasant staff. If you want to impress your friends by showing them how much you can spend on a Motel room, this is not the place. If you want an honest to goodness place to rest your weary head, without breaking your budget, This is the place to stay. The price is right!

Room Tip: Quieter in the west side of the motel.

The staff was average on the friendliness scale. The room was clean, but seriously looks and felt like it came from a collection of yard/estate sales. The beds were both horrible on the comfort level and our pillows were literally about an inch thick. Seriously need to upgrade the mattresses and pillows. The A/C unit in our room had a fan that was siezed up so it didn't run and when we went to look for extra pillows in the dresser, the middle drawer didn't even have a bottom in it! Speaking of the incessant reminder of their fire codes, exactly how long ago were those smoke detectors replaced?? The "small" breakfast was just that... coffee, juice, a bag of english muffins to toast and bakery muffins cut into quarters. For the price, I would recommend going down the road and staying at a well-known chain.

Well maintained, pleasant check-in (owner), renovated room, comfortable bed. Pleasant overnight stay while on a road trip.
Continental breakfast was only English muffins, jam, coffee, tea and juice...but we knew that ahead of time.

Having been travelling all day we were looking for a one night stay accommodation . We tried several motels which looked fairly poor then came across Knights Inn. Run by a charming couple,Jeff and Dannie Dunbar , we agreed a very reasonable rate and we were given one of the recently renovated rooms which was spacious ,comfortable, spotless and the whole ambiance led to a really great nights sleep.
Thank you very much. Highly recommended .

Room Tip: We had room 123 which was brilliant.
