The staff at the Inn are incredibly friendly and helpful. The rooms have everything needed. As others mention in their reviews -- the comfortable bed, cozy fireplace, ocean view, open door to balcony and sound of the ocean--very clean and they seem to think of every need.

The carpets in the hallways need major cleaning--really seem odd when everything else is well cared for.

The breakfast didn't match the options in the photo displayed in the Inn. Very salty eggs, no coffee at the time we ate. Our Keorig coffee maker didn't work.

Old hair blower with little power.

Room Tip: There is no room service so it isn't terrible, but I hit the circle in error and can't get i...

Husband and I and my cousin stayed at the Elizabeth Street Inn in Newport, OR. It was right above the beach. the room had a gas fireplace and a sliding glass door with screen which opened onto the beach. We opened the door and listened to the waves all night, it was so soothing and comfortable. the light from the town highlighted the tips of the waves as they came to shore, it was absolutely breathtakingly beautiful. the beds were very comfortable and the linen was clean, fresh, and of very nice quality. The room was clean, nicely appointed, the staff was very helpful. We got in late and they called the restaurant we wanted to dine in to make sure they were open and could take us. The dinner was delicious and the hotel was wonderful. We wished we had booked more nights there.

Room Tip: Be sure to ask for the ocean side of the hotel.

Really lovely room, great location with unbelievable views. The hotel is very comfortable with good sized rooms, each with amazing views of the incredible beach. Restaurants are within easy walking distance and Newport is charming, the scenic walk past Yaquinabaybridge is wonderful. Great location, relaxed atmosphere. Walls a bit thin, so it can be noisy at times but otherwise can't really fault it

This is one of the best hotel stay experiences because the rooms are all ocean front with fireplaces, sitting areas, beautiful accommodations and the lobby area has salmon chowder in the afternoons and fresh baked cookies in the evenings. We thoroughly enjoyed out stay at this location.

In my experience ocean hotels often can look a bit overused, the Elizabeth Inn does not at all. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. My family loved the design and furnishings in our room, as did my brother and his family in their room next to ours. The ocean view from every room is a great attraction and the fireplace was a plus as well. The fact that they have sinks outside of the bathroom are convenient when traveling with family. The Inn has great parking that is under the Inn and provides some shelter for the vehicle. Being able to sleep with the sound of the ocean was very relaxing. Comfortable beds and very clean fresh feeling, which adds to the overall atmosphere being a very positive experience. We would gladly stay there again.

Room Tip: The higher the better the view. but all the rooms have an ocean view. Our end room had an extra sid...

This was our second visit. The rooms are very nicely appointed. Everything we needed. Quiet refrigerator. Greats view. Comfortable bed and great pillows. Good breakfast. Walking distance to Nye Beach. We love this place. Just a tip. Plug the coffee maker in BEFORE you go through the very simple set up. Oh and find the stairs asap. Elevator is very, very slow.

Room Tip: Ask for a room that does not look out on the roof of the pool.

This might be my favorite place we have ever stayed. We happened upon the Elizabeth Street Inn somewhat by accident, and I am so glad we did. Even our car and motorcycle had a view! The moment we walked into the room, I was in heaven. Gorgeous view of the ocean, beautiful, clean deck (with chairs if you wish to sit outside), a wonderful little fireplace, lovely amenities in the room. I especially loved the glass wineglasses and coffee mugs...a little touch that was extra special. Who wants to drink a nice glass of wine from a plastic glass, or coffee from a styrofoam cup? Not me! The breakfast was great, the cookies in the evening were a terrific little dessert after whatever great restaurant we found within walking distance, and the staff was very friendly.

I read some of these reviews and have to laugh, I must say. Yes, you can hear doors slamming. Yes, the elevator wasn't lightning fast. All the amazing "pros" outweigh any possible con, unless, of course, you are used to staying at the Ritz Carlton everywhere you go. We will return to this lovely Inn again and again, and recommend it (already have) wholeheartedly.

Also found easy beach access right down the road, and came back via the cute little Nye Beach section of town. Great shops, restaurants, and an easy walk from the hotel.

And re: doors slamming? Be the change you want to see, and gently CLOSE your door and don't just let it freefall when you leave and arrive. Hotel doors are almost always quite heavy, and if everyone who gets irritated at hearing slamming doors would gently close their own door, why, there would no longer be a problem.

Four thumbs way, way up for this place.
