“Has everything almost right”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 10, 2012

What a beautiful location.. . Camped here last week of Aug/2012. Not huge campsites, but more than adequate. Easy to maneuver into sites. Power & water available on most sites, short walk from any site to the huge, gorgeous, sandy beach on the Pacific Ocean, play area for kids [ make sure you have bicycle helmets strictly enforced in park...good idea] clean washrooms and showers with never ending hot water for free.Close to Cannon Beach to the North, which is also beautiful, and to Tillamook and the cheese factory to the South...only reason i didn't give a "5" rating is because one of the toilets in the men's washroom was not in working order the entire time we were there, 5 days, [there is only two in each building it made it a little ruff for tenters] as the campgrounds were sold out months in advance for the summer this situation should have been rectified immediately.

“Nice park”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 2, 2012

This is a really nice park. The beach is large and normally very private. Nice trails for biking or riding horses. Access to the town of Manzanita is easy. The town has cute restaurants and shopping. Campsites are very close together, though. Not private.

“Great State Park - Beautiful Area with Great Beach Access”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 26, 2012

Nehalem Bay State Park is in one of the nicest locations in Oregon- just south of Manzanita, a beautiful beach town about 15 miles south of Cannon Beach. The state park is big, and it was crowded when we stayed, but there's a reason...the location is fantastic. The beach may be accessed from within the park, and the dunes provide a buffer between the campsites and the ocean so it's not too windy while at camp. We stayed in a yurt, which was wonderful- big, clean, and no set-up or take-down! The yurt easily slept four people- two adults and two kids. The restroom and shower facilities were dated but clean with plenty of hot water! As a runner, it's great to be able to leave camp and run along the beach or through the town of Manzanita. Both mornings while staying at the park, I went for runs and was able to see deer in the town of Manzanita, which was a real treat! I definitely will stay here again if I have the chance to return!

“Big but nice”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 20, 2012

It's a huge campground but well kept (except for the idiots who don't pick up after their dogs). The showers were clean with lots of hot water. Need more wall hooks in the stalls, tho. Look at the campground map before you reserve, you don't want to be near the trash area! Good beach access, and to the bay side as well. Nice boat ramp with plenty of parking. Evening ranger programs were interesting & well presented. We were in site D44, an excellent spot. There were many large groups, most with kids so it was noisy during the day, but the nights were pretty quiet. Note: if your car horn honks when you use your remote to lock it, please use your key!!

“Trails, wildlife”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 2, 2012

I used the trails for jogging. Lots of bird life, and also abundant deer. Restrooms were kept clean. Roads and trails were in good shape.
