We stopped in here for dinner during a family vacation to southern Oregon, where we based our day trips out of Medford.
Kaleidoscope Pizza bills itself as locally owned and unlike any pizzeria in Southern Oregon, featuring gourmet, stone-baked pizza and a variety of other menu items made fresh daily. Kaleidoscope says you'll enjoy their colorful dining space filled with one-of-a-kind work from local artisans, plus great service from our friendly staff.
My take on Kaleidoscope is their pizza is okay, but nothing special. I would stick to the basic toppings. We ordered 3 pizzas; the Prosciutto Blue (prosciutto ham, roma tomatoes, gorgonzola, artichoke hearts, garlic and olive oil), a Pesto Supreme (sun-dried tomatoes, kalamata olives, feta, artichoke hearts, mozzarella, provolone and pesto) and a simple pepperoni pizza. The Prosciutto Blue was so salty that all we could taste was salt. The Pesto Supreme was over powered by the amount of kalamata olives used. The Pepperoni pizza was good.
The restaurant itself has a fun, upbeat vibe about it.
The service was absent minded. Our server was nice enough, but seemed very forgetful and disappeared for long periods of time. A table next to ours had a similar experience. I had to go up to the food prep area and ask another server to bring my wife’s Rouge Ranch with chicken salad and our appetizer mozzarella bread sticks to us after we watched these dishes sitting and sitting and our server nowhere to be seen.
We would’ve enjoyed ourselves much more with more attentive service and sticking to a basic pepperoni pie.
