“A unique experience”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 9, 2013

We were in McMinnville for one night and the hotel recommended Golden Valley Brewery for dinner. The restaurant was large, and clean, but very dark. The staff were friendly, accomodating, and knowledgeable. They weren't short handed; we had great service. They were having a weekly cooks challenge, which we thought was very creative, and the item was Shepherds Pie; literally, some of the best Shepherds Pie I have ever had! They raise their own beef and you could tell - it was delicious. The beer and wine selection were good. We eat out quite a bit and the meal was pricey, definately above average. If in McMinnville we would probably go back.

“Good but not great.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 2, 2013 via mobile

The food is a bit overpriced for what you get. The beers are good and the food is above average. There are quite a few better restaurants in the area.

“Good food!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 31, 2013

The food and service are very good, with a nice menu. Beer galore, with a full bar and pretty good wine list. Very noisy at dinner time.

“Disappointed”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed May 25, 2013

We were in McMinnville for a one night stay with friends who had not been there before. We chose Golden Valley Brewery because of the ambiance and our previous experiences had always been good ones. Out of four of us, only one of us was pleased with our meal, which was fried oysters. Two had pulled pork sandwiches with Carlton pork and the description on the menu sounded much better than they were. There was more BBQ sauce than pork and the pungency of the sauce overwhelmed the meat. One of us had a hamburger that showed up with no condiments and the tomato and lettuce on the side. It was okay but lacking the usual condiments it was very dry. The waiter was friendly and affable.
We have been to this establishment quite a few times in the past and were always very happy with our meals so it might have been an off night. We were disappointed in the quality of the meal.

“Fish and chips”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 20, 2013

Had the fish and chips for lunch. the presentation was different than normal. Instead of 1 or 2 pieces there were 4 small pieces. The fish was cod and quite tasty, fries were ok, slaw was good. Had the wheat beer with it and it also was quite good. the only.thing I would do different is use less breading on the cod.
