McMenamins are predictable...usually small rooms with a quaint atmosphere, much like some small European hotels, with pubs. Lots of interesting paintings on the hall and room walls. We spent just one night on June 25 for our anniversary, and got a "King Suite" with private bath (w/ claw foot tub/shower). It had a small "sitting area". We also stayed on the 4th floor so weren't disturbed much by street noise from below. There are fun little shops and restaurants along the main street, as well as Victorian style homes just to the south. If you go, read one of the brochures on the history of the hotel and area.
