We travel extensively, both domestically and internationally, and this is one of the most pleasant and beautiful locations we have ever experienced. The inn is set on a peaceful hillside with spectacular views of Youngberg Hill vineyards, the Willamette Valley, and the Cascades. The staff and owners are incredibly hospitable and friendly and do everything they can to make your visit enjoyable. We were warmly greeted by Becky as soon as we stepped out of our car upon arrival. The owners, Wayne and Nicolette, were present every morning and afternoon to chat with us and to recommend restaurants and attractions in the area. Wayne offers private tastings of his wines to guests in the living room and carefully explains how he makes them. Morning walks through the vineyards promise gorgeous views of the fog-covered valley below against a stunning sunrise; we encountered deer and other wildlife on our daily strolls. The breakfast is wonderful and they willingly accommodate special dietary needs. You will not find a more beautiful location or a warmer welcome anywhere in the area. We are already planning a return visit.

From arrival to departure our time at the Youngberg Hill Vineyards and Inn was well beyond expectations. The hospitality of the owners and staff makes for a fun visit. Think family. From the views of the Cascades and Mt. Hood to the wine tasting to the marvelous breakfasts, it was a memorable stay.

We chose this B&B because it seemed reasonably priced and got good customer reviews. We couldn't have been happier! We are always a little wary of B&Bs due to the usual lack of privacy. We received very personalized service but never felt cramped. We would highly recommend this to any of our friends and will stay here again when visiting the Willamette valley. BTW they make some very nice wines.

This property has a lovely location and the facility is very adequate, but the current ownership made our stay for a family wedding weekend miserable. We live locally and chose this facility because of the pretty location and nice facilities. Unfortunately, we did not check with anyone about the people running the facility. We met several times with the event coodinator, in person, and made our requirements known for the event. We were let down several times in terms of our requests for the wedding, and the entire weekend was a difficult experience for my guests and myself.
Although we were repeatedly told the Bride had the major say in how the wedding occured, we were rebuffed in our attempts to set up the way she wanted things during several crucial parts of the wedding, including the ceremony and the reception. Also, in more than one instance, items which we were told would be made available were not available, causing us to scramble at the last minute before the wedding, or making us do without that which was promised ahead of time. This situation caused a lot of stress for the Bride and her family.
When my overnight guests arrived on Friday afternoon they were accosted by the owner in a confrontational manner. This type of behavior continued all weekend with too many events for me to go into a lot of detail. Two examples: in the middle of the wedding rehearsal Friday afternoon, he tried to pull me, mother of the bride, aside to talk about ridiculously inconsequential matters. I was trying to concentrate on the order of ceremony events! On Saturday morning as we ate breakfast, we received a lecture on having our bags ready and rooms cleaned up 8:45 AM the next day - even though check out was not until 11AM. This when we had just arrived, and were thinking about preparations for the wedding that day. These lectures from the owner were numerous and annoying, as was his presence during the wedding and reception dressed in casual clothes (a sweater) for our formal event. I will not go into more detail other than to say he was a thorn in our side the entire time with his constant nagging and clueless behaviors. My entire family had flown out from New Hampshire to Oregon to attend this wedding and I was embarrassed at how they were treated. I would not advise anyone to have a wedding at this site under the present ownership.

Management response from youngberghill, Owner
(Management representative)

I am very saddened to read this review. Everyone at Youngberg Hill worked extremely hard on a very unusual cold and rainy October day. The mother of the bride first contacted us shortly before their already planned outside wedding in October to switch venues to Youngberg Hill. Our contract is very clear on what we provide and we exceeded every detail offering much more then was promised and normally provided. The day of the wedding it rained ALL day. We discussed several options in case of rain well in advance during coordination meetings. We also communicated to her the week leading up to the wedding as well as at the rehearsal. The details the mother of the bride spells out in this review are inaccurate and disappointing that they are her perspective. I will take the high road by not pointing out the many contracted and thoroughly discussed agreements that were not adhered to throughout the event by this person.

This saddens me both personally and professionally. My staff went above and beyond in so many areas for this wedding, doing much more then we were committed to do in so many areas. Youngberg Hill has done hundreds of successful events because we continue to exceed the bride's, the families, and their guests' expectations. We have never encounter a mother of the bride like her but if we do we would do what we did on that day; work extremely hard to offer the best wedding possible. I'm sorry that for all we did and tried to do on their special day, she has found it necessary to respond in this manner.

One of the most beautiful & romantic places I have ever traveled to. We were greeted with a glass of wine from the vineyard. We had the Martini suite with a private deck & 2 person jacuzzi tub. The views from the hotel are breathtaking. Breakfast was wonderful, it was nice to sit & chat with other travelers. I wish I stayed a week!
