“Excellent value - very dog friendly”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 13, 2013

We spent a weekend here in May and have nothing to complain about. Although this is a motel-style establishment, the room is one of the nicest for this quality of accommodation that we have ever enjoyed, Rooms are clean, have comfortable beds, a microwave and refrigerator and a flat-screen TV. They aren't fancy but they are quite comfortable.

The location is great- it's two blocks away from the water (most hotels in Manzanita are within a few-block range and perhaps one is actually located on the water) and is easy to access. There's a parking area for guests.

Most importantly for us though, the Spindrift Inn is very, very dog friendly. It charges a minimal amount ($10 per night) for a dog room and even gives you a sheet, a dog bowl and a towel. One of our favorite things about this town is how dog friendly it is.

It is a great value - I'd happily stay here and and recommend to friends.

We went here for Cinco de Mayo and the guy behind the counter was very nice. Anything we needed, he was willing to get. Our room had a beach theme and I appreciate the little details that went into making the room feel different than a stuffy hotel. The beds are very firm (at least in #2 it is) and overall, I look forward to coming back to this place. It's conveniently located by several restaurants, coffee shop, bar, and of course, the beach where you can catch a beautiful sunset and play in the sand. Oh, and the price was very affordable. :-)

This little motel-style accommodation is perfect for a quick and inexpensive getaway to the Oregon coast. Not fancy, but incredibly clean and one block from the most beautiful beach on the Oregon coast. Very conveniently located just south of Cannon Beach and north of Tillamook. Tons to do in the area, for families, individuals, or couples. Extra thanks for turning off the outdoor lights at night! When you travel with kids, no one wants them thinking it is 'day' at 4:30am! First night there they left the lights on and it was like broad daylight in our room. I mentioned it and the next night they turned them off! That is service!
Only one thing they could improve - they didn't empty the trash when the room was turned after our first night. Again - traveling with kids - lots of trash piles up. It was kind of gross having to work around the pile. Other than that - it was Fabulous!

We had rented a private home in Manzanita but found it didn't meet our cleanliness standards, so called the Spindrift--they had a room with a kitchenette so we booked it for 2 nights. It was so cute, so quiet, and so very clean. It had a bedroom with a Q bed that was very comfy and a big comfy couch that I think could be made into a bed, a big screen TV with free DVDs, a cute and very clean little kitchen area with everything you need: microwave, frig, coffee maker, toaster, pots and pans that were clean and not abused or ready for the dump, dish soap, towels, salt & pepper. They were most accommodating! It is a block from the beach. We have driven by it many times and it looked like an older motel with little rooms, so we were so pleased to find it so perfect for us.

The Spindrift from the outside looks a little rundown, but don't let that influence your decision in staying here! The owners are very friendly and recommended places to eat (and not to eat). They answered all my questions and were willing to help in any way they could. The rooms were a little outdated but very clean and functional. We had four adults and stayed in a suite.Plenty of hot water for all four of us.The main room had a microwave, refrigerator, queen bed, sleeper sofa and TV and DVD player and the other room was where the bathroom was and had only a queen bed in it. The location to the beach is wonderful. We walked out the door, crossed a small street and then to the end of the block and there was the beach! The beach had nice sand for taking walks or to sit on the beach. Manzanita is a quiet little town, but so close to all the bigger attractions on this part of the coast. We ate at the bar/restaraunt across the street which had excellent food at affordable prices and also had pizza next door. The price to stay here is less then many other places and I would definitely stay here again!

We rented a kitchenette, and I came with low expectations after reading some of the reviews of the Spindrift Motel. However, the lady at the front desk was extremely friendly, kind, helpful, and all smiles. The room was very clean, comfortable, and just a few steps from the beach. Perhaps the only thing that keeps me from giving 5 stars was the initial smell of the room when we walked in. It had a reek that totally assaulted us upon entry, but it quickly went away. I don't know what caused it, possibly the age of the building, not sure. The smell was similar to nursing homes that I have visited in the past. But it was a darling room with perfectly beachy decor, and we enjoyed ourselves very much. It rained most of the time, so we didn't spend any time in the courtyard, but it seemed very darling. We borrowed free DVDs from the lobby and snuggled in for a rainy beach weekend. There is no lock on the door to the courtyard, making us a hint nervous, since obviously people from the street couldn't possibly enter that way, but other guests could easily enter any of the rooms. The bed was very comfortable, and there were plenty of pillows and blankets. On the corner, El Mariachi Loco Restaurant was a delight, and we went twice. Now that I know what to expect, we will be back!

Room Tip: The kitchenettes are perfect, fully stocked for home meals.

Clean, and homey. Comfy bed and lending video library for the winter stormy night inside. Pet friendly town even has leash hitching posts to park the dogs while shopping. Yummy neighborhood restaurants and even little markets for grocery shopping as we were lucky enough to have a kitchenette room.
