The staff at Surftides saved our vacation. We were staying at another resort hotel and were disappointed with the room, service and amenities. As we're travelling with a dog, our options for finding a new room for 4 nights on short notice were limited. However, Surftides saved the day (and the vacation). From the moment we entered the lobby, we felt welcomed. This resort has everything: incredible staff, dozens of thoughtful extras, a fabulous location and a cool 60's motel vibe. Extras include a keurig in the room, fabulous views, a wonderful beach, beautiful firepit area, a pool/spa/exercise building, and a wonderful well-stocked lobby. You can buy beer, wine, salads and sandwiches and light snacks right there. Room service from Mist is excellent. But my favorite thing about thus hotel is the mermaid search. They hide 3 wood mermaids around the property each morning for guests to find for prizes. We watched a couple kids find their mermaids and were stoked to get a Surftides tshirt. This hotel is wonderful with special little touches everywhere you turn, and staff that are the best there is.

Our room was clean, cozy and had an exceptional view of the ocean. The kitchen was stocked with everything we needed including a bottle opener. Will make this our go-to hotel when in Lincoln City. The beach access was convenient and the pool/jacuzzi were delightful. The front desk was very helpful, courteous and had a sense of humor.

Ive been going to this hotel for about 15 years for family vacations. At least once a year, sometimes twice. Last week (July 28 - Aug 2) we were really shocked to see our once loved vacation spot marked with graffiti tags around the property and the rooms really dirty and broken down. Our bathroom had dirt and mold caked around every corner of the floor and sink. I had to buy Clorox wipes and clean it! They had a new contest where you find a hidden mermaid on the property and get a free Tshirt. Sadly, after looking for it all over their property for an hour (and seeing graffiti everyplace!) our son was told they were out of Tshirts. It was so stupid I had to laugh. I will say the staff was as friendly as always, the beach was great as always, we did have a nice vacation as always.... but I gave a POOR rating because this hotel has really fallen by the wayside and they need to step it up. It was too nice of a place, and they charge a pretty penny for your stay, to let it get so dirty and marked with foul graffiti.

Room Tip: Ask to see your room, and of you dont find it clean, ask to change it.

Great Location. Very Friendly Staff. We Enjoyed the courtyard firepits in the evening. We found it to be a clean place to stay. The rooms were well kept & we slept very well. But I can't say enough about the location it is top notch. I HIGHLY recommend this trip if you want to get away.

Room Tip: Enjoy The Firepits if you get the chance.

We have stayed at The Surftides before and always liked the location on the North end of town. You can keep your beach chairs in your car & then easily walk down the steps under the hotel to a very nice un-crowded beach. The beds are very comfy and having a balcony right over the beach is great. Only down-side is no a/c, just a fire-place. We just opened our hotel door and the balcony slider to get a great ocean breeze going through, which was nice. We also liked the keurig machine and having a dvd player to watch movies in the evening. The Surftides is also close to Chinook Winds, making it an easy drive down the side street without getting on the main hwy. Only things we did not like in our room was the broken arm on the chair, stained chair coverings, tattered furniture, and a few "unclean" areas on the ceiling and light fixture. The value for the beach front location was really great, we would stay here again.

We stayed with my wife on a tour of the Northwest, we were given a room overlooking the ocean, wonderful.
Very clean and comfortable beds with crisp linens, was sleeping in bed at home.
Courtesy coffee and a fireplace to an environment of prestige and to report to friends.
It offers a gym, swimming pool and jacuzzi excellent

I've stayed at Surftides numerous times and I have always enjoyed my stay. The location is convenient and the ocean views are spectacular! They have a very friendly and helpful staff. The food at The Mist is an added bonus and the lounge is very inviting.
Upon our arrival, which was earlier than check in time, we were advised that our room was not ready but if we left a cell phone number we would be contacted when our room was ready. So after having lunch we again checked with the front desk to see if perhaps our room was ready, it was now 3:00pm, an hour before check in time. We were once again advised that our room was not ready and if we did not receive a call by 4:00pm we were guaranteed that our room would be ready by 4:00pm. Miraculously at 4:00pm sharp it was ready. If they were not going to let us check in early then just be upfront about it from the start. This was frustrating.
I would also suggest that they need to do a thorough cleaning in their rooms. There were areas of built up dust and grime. The sofa in our room was obviously quite worn and in need of repairs or replacement. I have seen their pictures on the website of their so called "remodeled" rooms but I have yet had the chance to stay in one.
I would recommend the Surftides but with an explanation of the worn out appearance. I look to forward to another stay with the anticipation of finally being able to stay in an updated room.

Room Tip: Ocean view room is a must! Elevator can be very slow.
