“A quick trip to de-stress!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 10, 2013

I came to this hotel for a short get away. It is quite conveniently located and had an easy access to the beach. I stayed on the lake view side and it was quiet and relaxing. Just what I needed! The front desk folks were warm and welcoming. I would not hesitate to stay again, and have recommended this hotel to friends. Keep up the good work, and by the way the breakfast was delicious!

2 of 5 stars Reviewed March 31, 2013

We would never stay here again. I checked in feeling optimistic and wanting to like the place based on all the improvements I read about in other reviews. But by the end of the three days we couldn't wait to leave and felt so disappointed, uncomfortable, and betrayed. We were charged $100 for leaving our dogs for two hours resting in the room because they were shivering from a full morning of running and playing in the cold Oregon ocean. And we were treated so rudely...
PROS: (1) across street from beach; (2) allows dogs; (3) free breakfast.
CONS: (1) no pool; (2) poor exercise room with 3 low-end machines only; (3) average breakfast with very few gluten-free options and hot water that wasn't hot enough to cook oatmeal; (4) poor layout for many, many dog visitors because all pets stay on second floor where rooms are crammed together like sardines and have thin walls to create a type of high-density housing for dogs that makes them agitating to each other; (5) noisy from dogs barking at all hours and freeway traffic; (6) dysfunctional room with no lock on sliding door, no screen on sliding door, sink that didn't drain, electrical outlets that were scarily flickering, burned/stained bathtub, opposite hot/cold faucets, severely scratched sink; (7) many "smell spots" from dogs that were covered over with an overwhelming odor control or cleaning chemical; (8) stiff penalty and fees; (9) untrustworthy staff.
WHEN WE WERE LOCKED OUT OF OUR ROOM TO BE TOLD WE WERE BEING CHARGED $100 FOR LEAVING OUR DOGS FOR TWO HOURS IN THE ROOM, THE FRONT DESK CLERK HAD BEEN TELLING A PHONE CUSTOMER THAT THEY WERE GETTING THE LAST VACANT ROOM. YET WE WERE THEN TOLD THAT WE "COST" THEM THREE CUSTOMERS. IF THEY WERE SOLD OUT (AS WE HEARD HER SAY), THEN IT'S HARD TO BELIEVE WE COST THEM ANYTHING. SHE TOLD US SHE TRIED TO CALL OUR PHONE NUMBER ON FILE BUT IT SAID IT WAS A DISCONNECTED NUMBER. UPON CHECKING MY ACCOUNT, I'VE SEEN THAT BOTH MY CELL AND HOME NUMBERS ARE CURRENT AND ACTIVE ONES. DID SHE REALLY TRY TO CALL MY CELL PHONE THAT I HAD IN MY JACKET POCKET AND HAS NO LOG OF IT? UPON CHECKOUT, THE CLERK PRINTED A RECEIPT THAT SHOWED THEY CHARGED MY CREDIT CARD $150 INSTEAD OF THE STATED $100. WE HAD TO CALL THE MANAGER TO CREDIT US THE EXTRA $50. WERE THEY JUST TRYING TO LET THAT EXTRA FIFTY BUCKS SLIP BY AND HOPEFULLY GO UNNOTICED? HE THEN PROCEEDED TO BE RUDE AND SAY, "I DON'T KNOW WHY ANYONE WOULD BRING THEIR DOGS ON VACATION AND THEN LEAVE THEM IN THE ROOM." (DID I MENTION THAT OUR DOGS WERE SHIVERING FROM COLD OREGON WATERS AND NEEDED TO WARM UP FOR A COUPLE HOURS BEFORE OUR NEXT OUTING?) HE WAS INSULTING AND RUDE. I HAVE NEVER BEEN TREATED SO POORLY AT ANY HOTEL. EVER. MY POOR KIDS WERE SO UPSET AND KEPT TRYING TO FIGURE OUT WHY THE HOTEL STAFF WERE BEING SO MEAN.

Room Tip: Avoid it. Dogs will always be on floor 2. the restaurant across the street was a bit pricey but so...

Me personally as a manager strongly believe I overreacted and sincerely apologise about how I made you and your family feel. I deeply care about my customers and have never responded the way I did towards any other guest the way I acted towards your family. In all fairness Ive never had customers leave based on the actions of another guests pets and that was the reason for my behavior, but still that is no excuse. Im disapointed in myself and send my deepest gratitude and would like for a chance to make up for my mistake. Please contact me personally at 541-996-4400 as soon as possible to speak me so you can tell me how I can make up for this and I have many suggestions myself. Again I apologise and want to note that if there a negative amout of a review you could leave, that is what we deserve.

The Quality Inn chain recently took over this property and are sprucing it up. When we stayed the carpets were brand new, too bad the beds weren't though, as we found them squeeky and saggy. the coffee is free but weak. The location is great though, right across the street from beach access.

Room Tip: take a room on the beach side for the view, and on the backside to get away from the road noise

Took my daughter to Lincoln City for her Birthday. Chester is an awesome new manager and strives to ensure that your stay is a pleasant experience! The rooms are clean and stocked with what you need. The beds are extremely comfy and love all the pillows! The only drawback would be the traffic - as the Ocean view rooms are right on the highway. Thank you Chester for everything and we'll see you next March!!

This is our 3rd visit to this hotel. We took our 5 kids with us on the last trip. Chester, the new manager, is awesome! He made sure we had adjoining rooms and gave us a late check out. He has made sure we had everything we needed at each stay. Things have improved greatly under Chester's care. It's a great place to stay. The beds are comfortable. The rooms are clean. The breakfast is good. We will be back!

Room Tip: They do take pets. Make sure you ask up front so you can get the room that meets your needs.

The hotel was pretty nice,is an older hotel that has alot of makeup on. The room was nice some stains on the carpet, the balcony is very tiny barley any room to stand, the lock on the sliding door didnt work. The view of the ocean from the room was very nice, the bad thing was the noise from the traffic, right on the hwy, the breakfast bar was very good, The staff was ok...The best part of our stay was in the lobby having breakfast in the morning as the door going outside was open for fresh air and along comes this seagull, stands outside like he waiting for an invite and he just comes walking in, standing in the lobby waiting for his breakfast, just about busted a gut laughing, that must be there doorman. LMAO. All in all it was a good stay.

Room Tip: If you want a view of the ocean and dont mind the traffic noise get a room on the 3rd floor. if you...

We apprecieate you staying with us recently. We are going through a change of management because of alot of things being bandaided instead of actually fixed, so there are alot of things that we are in the process of fixing. The balconies are very tiny and unfortnately we have decided to keep it that way to not influence smoking guests to smoke on them. The seagull's name is Fred by the way. We have told him that there is no work here anymore about six months ago, but he keeps coming back! Were all very greatful for your wonderful review and hope you stay with again soon.Thank you
