“Lovely Birthday Celebration at The Bay House”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 25, 2012

Our family of 14, including children and grandchildren, chose this restaurant to celebrate my 68th birthday. Immediately upon arrival at The Bay House we were warmly greeted and made to feel right at home. We were delighted to be led to a "private" room with a beautifully set table, including white linens, fresh red roses and the glow of lighted candlesticks. As we were seated our server added "birthday" glitter to the table top. A VERY nice touch!

Our grandchildren, ranging in age from 6 to 20, are accustomed to dining with us in exceptional restaurants, however, in this case there weren't menu options for the younger children. Normally we would order a "starter" or an adult item and split it among the littler ones, but with the restaurant's limited menu selections this was a bit challenging.

Our group tried two of the starters, including a creamy garlic soup, which I had. (This was an off menu item so I don't recall exactly what it was called.) The soup was WONDERFUL and perfectly prepared, an explosion of flavor in my mouth! A little larger serving of this with their delicious bread and herb butter would have been a great meal on its own!

For entrees The Bay House menu includes a prix fixe menu for $55 as well as four a la carte entrees, including a fish, duck, beef and a pasta. Our family tried all four a la carte entrees. Each one was well-prepared and creatively presented. We noticed that no salt and pepper were offered on the table, but the pasta definitely needed additional salt. We hope that we didn't offend the chef when we requested salt.

The desserts were exceptional, including the best creme brulee we have ever eaten (and we have tried it in MANY fine restaurants.) In addition, their house made chocolate ice cream got rave reviews, as did their sweet tea sorbet!

We would have loved to visit during daylight hours because we could only imagine how spectacular the view of Siletz Bay is from this restaurant!

One of the best things about The Bay House was their impeccable and attentive service! They made this birthday celebration extra special in every way!

“WOW!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 22, 2012

This is the coolest place I have found on the coast to eat/drink.
The service is absolutely wonderful, the views are out of control, and the food.....!
We went there for drinks and enjoyed the bar/lounge the first time and liked it so much, we came back for actual dinner celebration the next night. There is a huge price difference between eating in the lounge and the dining room but it was worth it. Our server was the nicest person, perfectly charming and attentive.
I saw comments about the limited menu, but this is not Red Robin, and the smaller menu truly allows for quality food in my opinion.
The owner can be seen helping out around the restaurant, you can't miss him because he is 30 feet tall! (: The maitre d' is the nicest person, he decorated our table with sprinkles for my partners birthday celebration dinner - so wonderful!
I will go back every chance I get to go out to the coast. Thank you Bay House!
Oh, I almost forgot: Ladies you MUST visit the restroom!

“Great meal”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 22, 2012

On a one night stay in Lincoln City we decided to give the Bay House a try.....what a fab place!
We were warmly welcomed by the owner.
The food was delicious (and european in style and taste). Our sommelier was very informed and interesting too (even though we had brought our own wine), he was accommodating.
After our starter and main course we were satisfied, and had decided not to have a dessert. Our waiter was surprised, and turned up with two desserts gratis! i was pleased to have an opportunity to try sweetcorn ice-cream - it was delicious!
Thanks to all the staff at the Bay House. We hope we can return again!

“Great Experience”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 8, 2012

With a false start at another restaurant in town, my wife and I searched for "the place" in Lincoln City to eat. We found it at The Bay House, exceptional quality, great owner and staff, with a laid back lounge perfect for relaxing and enjoying an evening. The chef is clearly focused on presentation and quality and the staff is proud of their establishment. From the art on the walls to a fireplace in the restroom this is a wonderful restaurant.

“Lovely evening”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 5, 2012

The setting here is sublime with a view over the bay with sunset if weather allows. Some of the seating areas feel like you are on top of the water! All of the staff are warm and attentive. The food is excellent for the Oregon coast. I would come back again and likely sit in the bar and enjoy some small plates.
