“Great location, great place to stay.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 18, 2013 via mobile

Can't beat the oceanfront view and only a few steps to the beach. Close to shopping, food and attractions. A little outdated but worth the money for the view. Staff was friendly and housekeeping was great! Book ahead of time, as it was busy during a holiday weekend!

Last minute plans for a beach getaway for Valentine's Day( the week before), didn't get us in our usual hotel in the Nelscott area, but we did find the last studio at The Sandcastle. This place was great, had a third floor with balcony. The room wasn't that big, but it had a gas fireplace, frig, microwave, and a small circular table with two chairs to sit and have a glass of wine in front of the fireplace and watch the waves. The balcony had two outside chairs to sit and do the same. I kinda laughed at the comment about the TV being small on a previous post, not sure why your watching movies at the beach. That being said, it is outdated, but the bathroom and vanity area look to be newly remodeled. The bed and pillows though are old and not very comfortable. The place is well run though and very clean, would not hesitate about staying here again.

I was planning 2 nights for our anniversary, I called a week ahead while shopping for a place. 2 days later I called back & was quoted differently by an extra $25! That put a bad taste in my mouth from the start! The tv's are extremely small & awkwardly placed on the wall, making it impossible to watch a movie from bed. The linen, decor, & furniture are all outdated. BUT the nicest thing I have to say about this place is that you can't beat the view. Except the balconies are all literally about 2ft from one another. Offering ZERO privacy. Most likely won't be going back for $90/night!

Have stayed here many times and just reminded of what a great place this is. The pool is a salt-water pool and one of only 2 at the coast.Much nicer on your skin then chlorine.Nothing fancy in the rooms but, clean and an amazing view! The Nelscott Reef is right outside your window with jetskiers pulling surfers out to surf the huge waves and it is pure enjoyment to watch from the comfort of your room. This stay we were on the 3rd floor with a kitchen and 2 lazy-boy rockers and were happy on this start of our New Year! Great and easy stairs to beach and a nice walk up to the Nelscott strip shops and breakfast at the Nelscott Cafe was fantastic. No paper products provided in kitchen (paper towels) but, for the price of the room not complaining.Would recommend this place and have for a inexpensive get-away to the coast.

Room Tip: No elevator but 3rd floor worth the stairs if your able

High tide is 10 feet from your door. Simple, clean rooms all have beach view. Nice pool and spa.

You come for the beach, and that is what you get. Very affordable for a beachfront motel. A true margin, during the week in the off-season.

This was our first stay at the Sandcastle Motel. We were celebrating our Anniversary, we were put in room #62. I love the room, it has a four poster bed and a jacuzzi in the room, with a fireplace. Very romantic atmosphere. The staff was very helpful, and friendly. We really loved watching the ocean right from our balcony. Then we went downstairs and go through a hallway and your on the beach. Definitely a wonder experience, we will return again for other occasions. :)
