We didn't count on spending the night in Oregon - we live in Washington and were just driving down the coast for a day trip that turned a bit longer than we thought - so we scooted to the bayfront of Lincoln City down by Mo's Restaurant right on the Bay. It's right next door. Wow. Our room was a suite for only a bit over a hundred per night on the second floor of the property, facing the bay/ocean. It was the nicest room! Fridge, clean carpets, nice big bed, everything very clean. Yes, the bed was a bit harder than mine at home, but I slept like a log. Yes, there was a tiny bit of noise; this is a beach property and there are kids here. We didn't mind a bit. We spent hours on the balcony looking at the sea lions eat salmon, slapping their fins as they wrestled with giant ones - the pink of the salmon could be seen struggling with the sea lions. Then, a white-tailed eagle zoomed down from the hills to the east and tried to snag it from the sea lion!!! I took pics and got a tiny shot of the eagle and the sea lions in the water, but you'd need a good video camera to get more. It was absolutely fantastic. The staff was not only knowledgeable about the area, but steered us up to Roadhouse 101 for supper, where he used to work. It was a FANTASTIC dinner and I'll write a review about it here; check for it. For a sudden stay without reservations, mid-week and in June, this was a heavenly experience. I love this place and we will be going back NEXT WEEK we loved it that much!
