“Incredible Edibles!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 9, 2012

While visiting Lincoln City for the weekend, we purchased groceries one afternoon. The clerk was very pleasant and commented that it had been a long day, but her shift would soon end and she'd looked forward to coffee and a pastry at her favorite place in town. We asked where it was, and she gave us directions.
Next day, as we returned from Depoe Bay, we saw the shop and paused for coffee and a pastry. After a brownie and a chocolate petite pain, it became clearly obvious that we'd do well to purchase a dozen cookies also! These are not mass-produced, but they're the product of a shared effort by a couple of interesting people to make something delicious. Perfect? Every baked item is a noble experiment!
Captain Dan's is a small shop, perhaps easily overlooked, bit it deserves my recommendation, and I think you'll enjoy it also.

“Love their cakes!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 13, 2012

They are irresistable. Italian Wedding cake (coconut), chocolate with ganache, spice cake - and their Carrot Cake is so moist, it keeps for several days while I nibble on it, and freezes well, too. Amazing.

Great place to stop for some sweets! The cookies were the very moist and so good! The kids really enjoyed the pirate theme.

“Try the Shipwreck Turnover”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 24, 2012

What a great place. The pirate theme is a lot of fun. I sipped on chai while reading about pirate language and giggling about pirate puns. Best of all was the Shipwreck Turnover. The crust was the perfect level of flakiness and the combination of salty bacon, tangy cream cheese, sweet caramel and tart granny smith apples made for a delicious treat. The owners were friendly and helpful. If I lived in Lincoln City, I think I would end up hanging out there a lot. For now, I will just have to bring my friends back here.

“You gotta try the Shipwreck Turnover!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 23, 2012

First of all the crust is so delicious, nice and flaky. Then the combo of the bacon, apple, cream cheese and caramel blend so well. The bacon and cream cheese make it not too sweet, while the caramel and granny smith apple bring a touch of sweetness. The owners are very friendly and the Pirate theme just adds a special touch.
