“Wonderful find on the beach!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 24, 2013

In 1959 my parents had their only weekend away from kids. They stayed at the Ester Lee and every time we passed it in my childhood, they would always say, "that was such a nice place. We'll have to go back someday." They never did nor did I until last weekend. I think now, with much regret, of all the times I COULD have stayed at the Ester Lee, yet bypassed it. Our weekend was one of the best (if not the best) experiences we've had on the coast. Yes, the rooms are a bit dated. No, there aren't fancy amenities. And, yes, the television was teeny. But, y'know what? You're in a beautiful location and ought not be inside watching television! Our room was spacious, clean and comfortable; we left the window open all night to hear the sound of the surf and enjoyed coffee watching kids and dogs playing on the sand early in the morning. What a delightful find this was! We'll definitely be back!

Ester Lee is a great place to stay in Lincoln city. They are very dog friendly, and they Do not discriminate against breeds or weight! The cottages are nice and they have amazing views of the beach.. furniture is a little out dated and tv's could use an upgrade!! Staff is very friendly .. they have a nice little area for dogs to do their business.. and it is kept nice and clean! Beach access is a pretty steep so be ready for a hike when its time to come back up. Overall .. ester lee is a great value and a great place to stay.. especially for those traveling with dogs !!!!cant wait to stay there again next month!!

First, the positive: Beautiful view, close beach access and pet friendly. The staff members who helped us with our problems were very nice - management not so much. The cottage was clean. Negative: The cottage is a lot smaller than it looks in the virtual tour. It also showed a microwave in the pictures and description, but there wasn't one. Barely enough silverware for 6 people. We wanted a place with a kitchen intending to cook our meals, but there is nothing to cook with! Only two pots (one very small) and no cooking utensils. We also bought groceries to cook with and the refrigerator wasn't working. Everything was warm and yucky. They spent half a day replacing the refrigerator with another (with us helping move and clean stuff) and the other fridge didn't work either! The railing to the downstairs room came off the wall and the light wouldn't work in the stairwell, making it scary to even walk downstairs at night. Beach access is a steep road, so if you have problems walking, this would not be ideal. Bathroom is tiny! This is an older property and they are obviously working it on a budget. The dish soap was just water with a little bit of soap in it. I hope they fix the refrigerator, railing and light at least for the next guests. They offered us two free DVD rentals out of their outdated collection as compensation. Wow!

Room Tip: This cottage would be more comfortable for four people, not six. Also, don't plan on having a m...

This is a wonderful find. The rooms are huge and have large windows overlooking the beautiful Pacific Ocean. Our room had a fireplace, kitchen, frig, microwave and a very comfortable bed. Almost like a small suite but at a very reasonable rate. Staff could not be nicer. Friendly and helpful. We highly recommend this motel and will return.

Rented based on virtual tour. Showed microwave, listed one--NO microwave. Fridge didn't work and had to be replaced, which cut 1/2 our day's plans, but no compensation offered (except two videos we didn't use).

Staff popped popcorn for us and were very nice when we needed stuff.

Scimpy stuff for a large group, like watered-down dish soap, no big bowls and not enough pans for cooking. Hand rail is broken downstairs.

Great view & beach access. Clean. Pet friendly. Good value.

Room Tip: Don't rent #6

I have to recommend this quaint, retro motel. The view from rooms 112 and 212 are incredible! The staff were lovely, and even though the decor is old inside it was still clean and comfortable. I will stay here again.

The Wife and I spent a couple of days at the end of May here and it would be tough to beat the price, the view, or the access to the Beach and Factory Outlets. The only suggestion I would make would be to spend a few more cents on softer ''TP'' in the Bathroom. My Wife joked that she nearly got a ''paper cut'' from the ''TP''.

Room Tip: 211 or 212 would be my choice for rooms especially for the best views.
