Great place and just as stated in all the other reviews. Friendly attentive owner who knows her stuff. I have never had a bad meal here.

“A Jar of Beer, Tasty Snacks, and Fun Chats”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 26, 2014

Walking Port Orford on the 101 takes only twenty minutes, but if the sun's out, so is the wind! We popped into Tasty Kate's on the Art Walk for a beer tasting and enjoyed a few jars of brews and a lovely visit. On Saturdays, the Farmers Market goes only until noon, so be sure to catch that if you're in town as Tasty Kate's bakes fresh bread for purchase. Can't wait to visit when they move into the new purple house with a larger location!

“Located in PORT ORFORD!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 25, 2014 via mobile

Great neighborhood spot to have a bite and a beer or latte.

Kate is always friendly and welcoming. She makes you feel like a local even if you aren't. It's fun to sit at the community table and meet people.

Definitely visit her new location opening July 1st.

“Home-made that feels like Home! (Yes, also gluten-free!)”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 29, 2013

I've spent a few meals at Tasty Kate's. The feel of the place is like spending time 'round the table at your favorite ecclectic Aunt's house. Delicious meals are served at an enormous communal table crafted by a local craftsman from local trees, the chairs are comfy, and the conversations varied and interesting. If sitting with folks isn't your thing, there is out-door seating at small tables.

Kate's menu changes based on what she finds inspiring and everything I've eaten there has been delicious. Particular favorites of mine are the Huevos Rancheros, the Cheese-Stuffed Meatloaf with mushroom and onion gravy, the Chicken Parm and tator-tot nachos (or Totchos) - and the best bit is each meal I've eaten there has been gluten-free, which can be difficult to find in the area. If she has her flourless chocolate cake? Get some.

Friday evenings, Tasty Kate's becomes Rowdy Kates and a plethora of characters through the doors to eat, chat and have a beer, wine or hard cider. Kate's also serves Rogue Brewing's Root Beer on tap. Go, sit back, get a great meal for body and soul.
