“Love the BED with Adjustible Sleep Systems.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 29, 2012

All I can say is that I love the adjustible sleep systems bed. The rooms are CLEAN and decently spaced, for the price per night, it's worth it. Buffet breakfast is OK, not the best and not the worst, in my opinion, Ill skip it and go to the nearest Denny's. Hotel is located a few minutes off Interstate 5.

mjbcmjbc - Thank you for your review. Our Garden Sleep System Beds are unique to the Hilton Garden Inn brand. You can "choose your snooze" by turning the dial on either side of the bed to make the bed softer or firmer to your preference. We also have two different types of pillows for your preference, synthetic or down. These are just a few more ways to make your stay more comfortable.

Close to downtown and to various malls, Starbucks and chipotle just a block away for early java or late night snacking. Clean rooms, good size and well worth the value. Would recommend and will stay here again!

Dongcool - You are absolutely correct. We have lots of great places close to us. In fact, we have two Starbucks' and a local coffee show called Blue Moon Coffee. The malls you mentioned, Bridgeport Village and Washington Square, are both great places to do your holiday shopping. Thanks for your review.

This is a very nice place to stay. My husband and I stayed the weekend here in Dec. 2012. It's a little south of Portland but is a very nice area of town with lots nearby including the interstate if you want to get out and about. The website, however, says it has a fitness facility. While I guess that's technically true it only had four cardio machines: one bike, one elliptical and two treadmills. It has no weights. If you're a fitness enthusiast, this is probably not the place you want to stay.

We also had the breakfast each morning and it was decent but nothing spectacular. The wait staff was again okay but nothing special. I asked for egg whites, which they were able to do but didn't have healthier options like greek yogurt or turkey sausage or turkey bacon which was disappointing. I like to be able to go on vacation without completely blowing my diet.

The people working the front desk were great. They gave us good advice on food options and also things to do and see. Overall we had a very nice experience, I just wish it was a little more health conscious than it was. I've stayed at other HGI's where i could get turkey bacon and sausage and where they had more than 4 cardio machines in the gym.

MelDeutsch - Yes, our fitness center is a bit basic but our Front Desk is able to set you up with Snap Fitness which is directly behind us. They do have a full facility that is available 24/7. We also have a 24 Hour Fitness just a few miles away. The Front Desk will happily print directions for you and find you what you need. Thank you for your review.

Situated in Lake Oswego, which is perhaps 10 mins from downtown Portland and 30 mins from the airport, the hotel has no surprises. Rooms are clean and spacious with most rooms fitted with mattresses with a firmness control. The control knob is hidden underneath the mattress cover near the headboard. And do not sit n the mattress while adjusting the knob as it messes up the sensors.

I found the mattresses to be quirky and the bed gradually deflated over the course of a nights sleep. Management indicates the rooms are in the process of being renovated.

Free WiFi, restaurant on site with a bar and close to Lewis and Clark University.

Room Tip: Hotel offers free wine and beer during afternoon socials.

m w - Thank you for your review. We are very much looking forward to our renovation in 2013. I would like to clarify that our beer and wine is generally at cost, but we do occasionally get to enjoy a manager's reception where we do have complimentary drinks. Our bar is open 5-10pm on weekdays and 5-9pm on weekends.

This is a very nice Hilton property situated in a lovely area that is brimming with dining choices. Front desk service was friendly and helpful. The hotel rooms were average in size but furnished nicely and very clean. The pool area was exceptionally well kept and the temps were perfect. Pool towels were well stocked. Breakfast was wonderful with many fresh choices along with hot dishes.

I visit the Portland area frequenly on business, and this has become my favorite place to stay in the area.

There are no big surprises with the hotel itself. If you've ever stayed in a Hilton Garden Inn you know exactly what to expect, and this property doesn't disappoint. The rooms were clean and spacious and included a mini-fridge and microwave. If you check in as a Hilton HHonors member you are given two complementary bottles of water on check-in, and if you're gold or higher you get a breakfast voucher. All standard Garden Inn stuff. Also, the rooms with king beds have the adjustable firmness mattress, which is a nice feature.

The hotel is located in a nice neighborhood, nestled in amongst plenty of trees. It is very quiet despite being close to I-5 and a major road. There are several restaurants within easy walking distance, including a Stanford's (one of the local favorite chains). It is also about 15 - 20 minutes from Hillsboro which is where the Intel and Nike campuses are located - both major destinations for business travelers to Portland.

The hotel does offer breakfast, but it isn't free unless you're HHonors gold or higher. Even if you pay for breaksfast it's decent food at a reasonable price. They have your typical continental items - pastires, fresh fruit, cereal, and yogurt, and will also make hot items such as omelets and pancakes to order. I was in the mood for something lighter on my most recent trip, so I just walked across the street to Starbucks, but the times I have had breakfast in the hotel it has been more than respectable.

I will definitely stay here again during my next business trip to Portland.

Room Tip: Request the king room with adjustable firmness mattress.

MMPRN - Thank you for your review. We love the Lewis and Clark College here. It is wonderful to have such a nice college so close to our establishment. It is so close our shuttle will even take you there. I do want to clarify that at the moment our beer and wine reception in the evening is not normally complementary. We do serve many local beers and wines to enjoy during any night of the week. We look forward to seeing you again next season.
