“Between portland and wine country”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 30, 2014

A short drive from Portland and a short drive from nearby wineries. Breakfast area was well stocked and clean. Staff was very accommodating and friendly. Town of lake Oswego is an upscale community, so area was nice, but price on hotel was affordable. Only bad thing was my air conditioning really didn't work, they were very apologetic when I informed them of the problem

Room Tip: Gas station, semi fast food restaurant, and restaurant/bar all located in hotel parking lot

We chose this hotel because of its location - only a 15 minute drive to downtown (depending on traffic) and a 20 minute drive to Woodburn Premium Outlets There's also a Trader Joe's right across the highway and one exit away is Bridgestone Village, an outdoor mall with Off Saks Fifth, The Container Store, Anthropologie, Loft & many others. Also a movie theatre and a few restaurants. We ate dinner at Pastini Pastaria which was delicious!

Rooms are clean and beds comfortable and hotel is quiet.

Would definitely stay here again.

We are very glad you enjoyed your stay. It should be mentioned that Washington Square Mall is only 5 miles away from us, so if we get the pleasure of seeing you on a future visit, you'll have another great place to shop at!

We spent three days at this hotel. The maids kept our room very clean, it had very high speed internet, and the free breakfast was awesome. Also, the hotel was easily assessable to I-5, which got you to all the attractions. This hotel was also very quiet.

We stayed here for two nights after coming to Portland for surgery and needed a room that was "accessible" for convalescence before the trip home. The room was large, clean, comfortable, large bathroom with grab bars, Breakfast offered pancakes, sausage, rolls, fresh fruit, juice and coffee. The location is at the end of a parking lot for a gas station and restaurant. Not quaint but workable, convenient to the freeway. The staff was very friendly and helpful. I did have to look on three floors to find an ice machine that was working. Very close to a large outdoor shopping mall. Overall, not charming but filled all our needs. When making the reservation for 2 rooms I was transferred to a call center and it took 25 minutes to do the booking. That part was very in efficient.

When I travel for work I tend to stay at Holiday Inn Express because I have found it to be the most consistent among the hotel chains; until I stayed at this location. The staff was very friendly, the location was great as it was close to the freeway/highways, which was convenient as I have to drive around to different locations while I work, so this was centrally located for what I needed. The two most important things I look for in a hotel are cleanliness and safety. The cleanliness in this hotel is less than what I have become accustomed to with Holiday Inn Express. There was a spider in my sink when I first walked into the room, so I was worried about bugs the whole time I stayed. The size of the room was smaller than normal as well, especially the bathroom. Most of the ones I have stayed at have a large bathroom, with a sink area in the same room as the toilet and shower and they are very spacious. This hotel had a vanity in the room that was separate from the bathroom that had the sink. The bathroom consisted of the bath/shower and toilet. The room was so small that you had to step in an close the door behind you if you wanted to use the toilet. The shower curtain rod was installed too high, so if you were not extra careful while showering the curtain fell out of the tub and water went everywhere. There was also only one trash can in the whole room. Seems silly to complain about, but generally speaking there is one for the restroom and one for the room. There is also no trash cans along the outside entrance of the hotel and I found one small trash can in the lobby area that was always overflowing, so hopefully you don't have anything to throw away, cause there is no place to do it. There was a larger than normal size mini fridge in the room as well as a small microwave and ancient coffee pot. Probably the nicest thing about the location, is that it was quiet. I never heard footsteps above me, or people next to me, or their tvs. I also had a room that overlooked the freeway and had surprisingly little traffic noise. Their breakfast was great as usual and consisted of biscuits and gravy, eggs, bacon or sausage (they rotate days), cereals, pancakes, pastries, yogurts, fruit and their signature cinnamon rolls. Overall, I will probably stay at a different hotel next time I travel back to this area.

We stayed at this Holiday Inn Express for a 1 night business stay. Our room was the queen suite and with two kids, it was perfect size and had 2 separate rooms. The bathroom was pretty small, but given that it was just a short trip, it didn't really matter. Rooms were clean, the continual breakfast made life a little easier and the location is good for 2 large shopping areas.

We landed in Lake Oswego for a family gathering and were pleasantly surprised by the Holiday Inn Express. The property is adjacent to I-5 so easy enough to hop on the freeway and head into downtown Portland within 15 minutes.

The property shares a parking lot with a gas station and a bar & grill so nothing to write home about. The hotel is nice enough, clean, new-ish and the staff very friendly and efficient. There’s an indoor pool and a small but handy fitness center. The breakfast/common area is large and the hot breakfast is ample including pancakes, eggs, sausage, biscuits and more. Fruit and coffee/tea available all day – nice touch

We had a two-room king suite which was handy for entertaining our family (i.e sofa, extra chair and larger fridge). Bathroom was a little tight but met the need. Bed was comfy and the linens were great.

So, Lake Oswego Holiday Inn Express - a solid affordable option in the Portland area. We would certainly stay here again.
