“I really want to like this place, but...”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed September 19, 2011

I had a business meeting in LO and spent the night here because I trusted the quality of Marriott but this hotel missed the mark in the following points:
A "clean" bath towel had a BROWN streak down the middle..no joke.
Mold in the bath/shower and surrounds
Noise and vibration from the monster ice machine and pop machine that echos down the hall.
Smokers hang out right by front door so this "non-smoking" property quickly smells and chokes of smoke
Slow to no WIFI
The breakfast is the norm and no complaints.
Shop around folks this area has plenty of hotels to choose from.

We stayed in the Fairfield Inn Portland South on the first night of our trip from Seattle to San Francisco. The hotel staff were most helpful and there were places to eat within walking distance. We ate at the Oswego Grill which was excellent. The hotel had free wi-fi nand the complimentary breakfast was excellent. All in all a good place to break our journey.

The Fairfield Inn & Suites was a really very nice basic business hotel. It was in great condition and the staff was very friendly and helpful. It's placed right in a nice neighborhood and away from the busier areas. My only complaint, as with most hotels of this type, was that the Internet connection was very slow. So slow that it was nearly unusable in the evenings, but luckily I didn't have too much to do with it during my stay.

The Fairfield Inn & Suites was a great, quaint hotel with just 4 floors. It felt very homey. It's situated in a little neighborhood which seemed more residential, than a tourist attraction. It was great for my family. I went with my husband, sister & family, and one of our cousins. We wanted to get away for a relaxing, not overly planned vacation.

The Fairfield overall wasn't fancy or poor, it was just right! The workout facility is small, just one elliptical, stair climber, and the newest piece of equipment was the treadmill. It was hot in there too because it was right next to the pool, and I felt like I was in a sauna! They should upgrade the equipment. The pool/Jacuzzi area was nice with the sunshine flowing down through the windows. This was a very relaxing setting after a long day of tax-free shopping!

Breakfast here was delicious! It included waffles (freshly made by you), boiled eggs (if you get there early enough) and all sort of bread, pastries and breakfast sandwiches. The staff in the breakfast room was incredible.

Our rooms were nice. We had 2 queen beds facing the front of the hotel. Our only complaint about the room was there was no vent in the bathroom. After someone takes a shower it gets so hot in there, it’s unbearable.
Other than that this was a great, quaint little hotel that was perfectly situated pass downtown Portland and in between great shopping locations and restaurants. I would stay here again! If you’re looking for a nice family getaway, this is the perfect place to stay.

We stayed here for a week on reward points. I travel a lot and this was one of the best Marriott hotels that we have stayed at. Everything was great - clean room, great service, very nice grounds, pool and lobby, great area, good breakfast and very nice hotel employees. The only complaint was not enough towels.

This was a great Fairfield, just off the freeway in Lake Oswego. We were just passing thru on our way to the beach from Seattle. They offer the standard included breakfast, but we slept in and didn't eat in the hotel. It was clean and quiet. Plenty of free parking. If you get back on the freeway and head South, the next exit has plenty of discount shopping. If you head west on the freeway, Washington Square is a great mall abt 5 mins. away. We ate at a place called Biscuits Cafe right down the street in Lake Oswego, it wasn't anything special, but good food overall. Large plates, lots of variety. Good family spot. And a large patio if you want to eat outside. Clean and friendly, a local chain.
This hotel is a good fit if you are looking for a place close to the LDS Portland temple, about a mile away.

We were leaving Portland after a day of appointments and visiting family. We stopped at Fairfield Inn, Lake Oswego only to be told they were full. The wonderful receptionist checked with other Marriott Hotels and found one in North Portland. However, we were heading south so she called a different chain and reserved a room for us. That was way beyond the call of duty!!! She had just come on duty at a little after 11 pm on June 22. Wish I'd gotten her name. She was super and deserves a raise!!! We will be back to her Inn soon!!!
