Our cabin was great! Very clean and a full kitchen really was convenient... Didn't even need our own kitchenware, all provided which was a bonus. Randy was a very generous host, and helped with anything we needed. Great view of the river, and a private fishing area. Will definitely be going back again!

The rooms were dirty!! The kitchen items looking like things purchased at the goodwill store...The host was drunk after the time. The one good thing was view & the beautiful river!! Will not go back again!!

We stayed in the Maple home for one night during a week long road trip around Southern and Central Oregon. This place is amazing! A beautiful comfortable, clean and nicely furnished home on the river. You feel like you are staying in a tree house the way it is built over the river. We were greeted in the morning by a huge bald eagle perched across the river. We watched him from the bedroom window and balcony for over an hour! It was a great experience! The beds are super comfortable, the kitchen is fully equipped for preparing family meals. There is a small general store within walking distance that has great breakfast burritos. The river views are awesome. We can't wait to go back and spend more time! The owner is extremely helpful.

Camping is fun as you get to be in remote spots but this place beats all, and you get to stay in a house instead of pitching a tent! It's right off of Highway 138 but it's down a little driveway and away from any highway noise. You won't find many cars on that part of the highway anyway for that matter. The location is so perfect with so much nature everywhere! You are right next to Deadline Falls (5 miles) which has fish jumping. We went to Crater Lake for the day stopping at a couple of waterfalls and taking in a few wonderful hikes.

The cabin (house) itself has all the amenities you need. It's got a rustic feel to it that Randy (the owner) then adds little luxuries to, such as robes, fluffy towels, soft sheets, bottle of wine, and even chocolates by your bedside. The bed is comfy, the place is quiet, the kitchen is stocked, and there's even a gas grill should you want to barbeque on the deck.

They have 3 houses, 2 are pet friendly. They also have a house with one story if you cannot climb stairs. All of them have incredible front row seats of the Umpqua river. You will not even know there are other people nearby however because it's very quiet.

The location has a restaurant 3 miles away which serves awesome meals even though you are in a tiny town.

There's a rock out there called Turtle rock that you can jump off and go swimming but the owner will fill you in to all of that information. Speaking of the owner, he was charming and helpful. We were greeted by him once we settled in on the deck with our wine.

NOTE: No wifi and no cell service in the house. There are places close by that you can get these services but to me it would have been an intrusion.

My husband and I stayed here for 5 nights in June and we couldn't have asked for more. The weather was perfect, the location and view is amazing. There are very little properties along the North Umpqua River and this is definitely a hidden gem. We stayed in the "fir cabin" and had a balcony that was directly above the river. We did the whole North Umpqua River scenic byway and this was a great location for visiting Crater Lake and all the beautiful waterfalls. The amazing part of our cabin was, that it had a full working kitchen and grill on the balcomy. So we were able to cook dinner every night and enjoy breakfast every morning on the balcony. This is definitely what we were looking for, it was private, located right along the river and it definitely beats staying in a stuffy one room hotel. This is your own private cabin along the river! There is no wi-fi so if you cannot survive without being on the computer or on the phone this is definitely not a place for you. This was our first time in Oregon and we definitely enjoyed our stay at the River Vista Homes!

Room Tip: I would suggest that you grocery shop in Roseburg prior to arriving at the cabin as there are only c...

THe location is great for exploring the waterfalls and surrounding area. My husband and I spent two nights here in the Marone cabin. Be advised that bedrooms are upstairs and only bath is down if that is an issue for you at night. We saw the bald eagle and river otters right off our deck over the river. Randy, the owner, is very enthusiastic and makes sure you know all the things to see and do and places to eat. Also, have lunch at Steamboat and explore those grounds and river views....gorgeous.
